I wanted to buy some green trainers... here's what I found: I have 'a thing', when I want to buy an item of clothing, trainers or shoes etc. I donate that item i'm replacing to charity first. So for example, if I want to buy a new pair of trainers, I take the old pair to the charity shop first and then order a new pair. My choice of items has never been based on lables, logos or 'Drip' ( as my teenage daughters would call it), for me it's about my conscious, comfort and care. You won't find me with well known trendy brand logos on my chest, trousers of footwear - more so - messages around ethics, statements around mental heath or nothing at all printed on them. My recent purchase ( after much searching ) was these All Birds trainers made from 100 natural materials.. Allbirds have been a #BCorp since 2016 meaning they have had to recertifify and get better every three years since then. Conscious - based purchasing hmmmmmm go on give it a try you'll be surprised what's out there.

Fast Retailing launches 'The Heart of LifeWear' project to donate over one million Heattech garments worldwide Fast Retailing has launched a new initiative called "The Heart of LifeWear," aiming to donate over one million Heattech garments worldwide starting this winter. The announcement was made at a media and investor briefing, where Senior Executive Officer Koji Yanai and Executive Officer Dai Tanaka of the Fast Retailing Group were present. This year marks the 40th anniversary of Uniqlo, and the company decided to launch the project as part of a return to its core values, reflecting on how it can contribute to society through clothing. "At Fast Retailing, we often ask, 'What makes life better?' To answer this, we felt it was important to demonstrate once again how we can make a meaningful impact on the lives of our customers," said Yanai. Under "The Heart of LifeWear" project, Heattech garments will be donated to those in need, including refugees and disaster survivors across various regions, such as Japan, Greater China, Korea, Southeast Asia, India, Australia, North America, and Europe. In Japan, 100,000 items will be distributed to victims of the Noto Peninsula earthquake, areas affected by heavy rains, child welfare facilities, and other vulnerable groups. Additionally, 500,000 Heattech garments will be donated to refugees and internally displaced persons outside these regions through the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), bringing the total donation to approximately 1.07 million items worldwide. The specific items donated will vary based on climate, with Airism garments being distributed in warmer regions. The first phase of the project took place in October, when Heattech clothing was sent to Ukrainian refugees in the Republic of Moldova. Yanai expressed his belief that Heattech would be particularly beneficial for those enduring harsh winter conditions, adding, "I hope this initiative can positively impact the lives of people facing difficult situations."
