Beware of Ransomware Scams Posing as IT Support ! Scammers are increasingly posing as Microsoft Teams support to gain access to your devices. They flood employees' inboxes with spam, then call or message via Teams pretending to offer help. Once they gain access, they can steal data, deploy ransomware, and disrupt business operations. Black Basta Ransomware Exploits Microsoft Teams for New Attacks Black Basta ransomware affiliates now use Microsoft Teams to impersonate IT support, deceiving employees into granting network access. Attackers flood inboxes with spam, prompting users to seek help, then pose as help desk staff on Teams to gain trust. Using names like “Help Desk,” they send malicious QR codes or prompt downloads of tools like AnyDesk to infiltrate networks.
