Beware of Ransomware Scams Posing as IT Support ! Scammers are increasingly posing as Microsoft Teams support to gain access to your devices. They flood employees' inboxes with spam, then call or message via Teams pretending to offer help. Once they gain access, they can steal data, deploy ransomware, and disrupt business operations. To protect your business: ✔️Educate employees about the scam and verify any unsolicited support calls or chats. ✔️Secure Microsoft Teams by limiting external chats to trusted domains and enabling chat logging. ✔️Contact your IT department before allowing access or installing software. ✔️Need extra help securing your systems? Black Basta Ransomware Exploits Microsoft Teams for New Attacks Black Basta ransomware affiliates now use Microsoft Teams to impersonate IT support, deceiving employees into granting network access. Attackers flood inboxes with spam, prompting users to seek help, then pose as help desk staff on Teams to gain trust. Using names like “Help Desk,” they send malicious QR codes or prompt downloads of tools like AnyDesk to infiltrate networks. Researchers advise restricting external Teams access and monitoring suspicious chats. #Cybersecurity #BlackBasta #Ransomware #MicrosoftTeams https://lnkd.in/g7gQBAzV
