To my friends, colleagues and the many clients that I have worked with this past year, a Big Thank You for your friendship and your enthusiasm for engaging with me - it's been great - we've learnt lots together & had fun too; I hope you feel the same. 🎄I wish you all a very Happy Christmas break and the very best for 2025🎄 And as for the image below, well my increasingly well-known red bike🚲 here in Bath had to put in an appearance: it's been so useful for the growth locally of my business (meeting clients; it's our 2nd year here in Bath). And this is what Santa🎅 would surely ride - perfect for the city drops... 💎And that's where The Silver Shop's appearance in this year's Christmas photo comes in! Yes, these past 3 weeks I have also been supporting my brother's business, The Silver Shop (link in Comments), at their busiest time of the year. The Christmas surge is absolutely amazing to experience, so it's been a pleasure being able to add my support when I can: weekends especially (I'm there this coming weekend if you are visiting Bath!) - I love the buzz of helping uncertain customers find an ideal gift for Christmas; helping a bit on what I call the 'night shift' resetting the store for the next day; and one of my favourite jobs... the free local delivery service by 'red bike'🚴♀️! This photo was taken just before 2 drops - oh goodness the hills of Bath!!🤦(🚵♂️) The Silver Shop deserves a bit of a highlight. My brother's very modest; but I am so proud of what my brother has achieved steering one of Bath's best reviewed businesses for 25 years: whilst other businesses have come & gone through recessions & the pandemic, The Silver Shop has stayed the course. And that's all down to great customer service; making it an enjoyable place for employees to work; and prudent cash management enabling buffering for the tough years. And in 2025... I'll be bringing #CliftonStrengths to the team. That's going to be so exciting. Right I had better get on my bike... there's another delivery drop to do! #wildtrainer #coaching #professionaldevelopment

Q for the festive season, for one to ponder about from the sofa (for those still able to work their thumbs on keyboards and who enjoy the banter of a good, healthy exchange of thoughts): "When is Facilities Management (FM) truly FM?" In recent weeks, I have been challenged by some of those who believe FM is wholly intertwined only with Workplace issues. Well, apart from all the residential, retail, industrial, infrastructure, military, academic, Government agency, logistics, and other such stuff, that is... And then, what about those who deliver related services in the built environment, including Asset Management, Property Management, Community Management, and Real Estate? For all these activities (and many more) they all interface with, and are related to, FM, surely? Asking for a friend...

Pathzz insights, analysed by the Night Time Industries Association (Australia), are helping to debunk the outdated notion that late-night public transport is only for young revellers. Our insights highlight that less than a fifth of late-night patrons are under 25 years old. Furthermore, over half of those out late at night earn less than $80,000 annually. In the current cost of living crisis, where every dollar matters, splurging on taxis or ride shares isn’t always an option. As Mick Gibb explains, it’s nurses finishing a late evening shift, it’s hospitality workers, it’s cleaners (and other workers) wanting to get home safely. Pathzz data provides valuable insights in highlighting the diverse, dynamic and essential needs of our community. NSW has invested billions of dollars into the new Metro so why don't we make the most of it by running it 24 hours a day? We need to move on from that old and disproven narrative that late night public transport is just for the revellers. Analysis by the Night Time Industries Association (Australia) using Pathzz found that less than a fifth of late night patrons are under 25 years old. This isn't just the young guns trying to get home safely, it's all of us. It's nurses finishing a late evening shift, it's the hospitality workers, it's the cleaners and many more. Everyone deserves a safe and affordable way to get home regardless of your clock on and clock off schedule. What's more, just over half of the people out late at night earn less than $80,000. In a cost of living crisis where every dollar is accounted for, splashing out on a taxi or rideshare just isn't viable. Great to share some data and insights with Lachlan Leeming at The Daily Telegraph. HOW THE U.S. WILL CELEBRATE ST. PATRICK’S DAY St. Patrick’s Day is right around the corner and consumers are both wearing and spending plenty of green to make it special. Consumers plan to spend a record $7.2 billion — or an average of $44.40 per person — on the holiday this year and, perhaps unsurprisingly, their top spending categories are food and beverages. Among related insights from the National Retail Federation and Prosper Insights & Analytics: • Consumers are coming out in full force for St. Patrick’s Day, with a record 62% (or 162 million Americans) planning to celebrate. (That’s more than 20 times the population of Ireland itself.) Given the holiday’s broad appeal, it’s no surprise that consumers of all heritages and backgrounds say they’re willing to don some green on March 17. Regardless of if they have Irish heritage, consumers in the U.S. are all in on St. Patrick’s Day, with Hispanic Americans as the group most likely to celebrate the holiday. #stpatricksday #spending #consumerinsights #consumerspending 🍀

Last month I moved to the suburbs with my fiancé. After living downtown the last 4 years, here’s 4 major changes I’ve noticed about myself: 1) Greater sense of calm and just general peace Downtown, people are in a big hurry. Usually I was worrying about booking the latest and greatest restaurants months in advance, Ubering from 1 spot to the next, and just living my life like a traffic light. Wake up. Go. Slow down. Repeat. Drake said once that sometimes life “forces you to calm down,” and I am doing exactly that. 2) Better focus on my family and friends There are less distractions out here. Little horn honking, longer UberEats times (resulting in cooking more), and a heck of a lot quieter. More quiet = more focus. Less “hey let’s meet up,” and more “hey lets stay in.” That’s been great for my relationships and overall happiness. 3) More pride for myself and environment It’s a lot easier when you’re in a major city to be able to wait until the last minute to jet to the airport, to work, etc, but being out here forces you to rethink you’re entire routine. Having a house vs. apartment/condo forces you to clean more and put more effort into your planning for cooking, cleaning, and overall house maintenance. It’s been a super welcome change and made me take better care of myself to take care of everything else. 4) Less desire to always be doing something Being downtown there is always something cool going on; from major artists on tour to comedian pop up shows. Last minute invites with friends in town. Living out here allows you to focus on you, your family, your friends and neighbors, and what you truly care about. Maybe I’m just getting older and this is all part of normal life, but I can’t wait for soccer practice and not sharing an elevator with 400 strangers. Which do you prefer? 🌇 City life or the 🏡 burbs? Tell me why in the comments.
