The Why
We see this profile of candidate quite often, especially post-covid.
7 year run with a company.
6 months with a company.
4 months with a company.
5 months with a company.
"I'm looking for a new long-term opportunity".
Hiring managers, right, wrong, or indifferent, do not like to hire people with frequent, recent job changes.
They see a pattern.
There is an opportunity though, to hire this person if they are truly motivated and they just got dealt a bad hand.
A key I have found is based on what happened during their move away from the company where they were working for 7 years.
During the volatile world of work post-covid, quite often the story of job changes is valid, and makes sense, and is not a reflection of motivation to contribute.
Or sometimes people change for the right reason, and then it doesn't work out.
It can take awhile before someone can get back on track when chaos hits.
And vetting for the 'why' is, and has always been one of the pillars of our service, here at SCN - Search Consulting Network.
The 'why' behind a candidate's motivation.
And 'why' our client is a potential great option.
43-77, sunshine. Another perfect day.
Tough loss for the Tigers, but super exciting for the City of Detroit.
Make it a great, Friday!
