This has been such a great listen. Lessons that I have drawn from Everjoice Win are that: 1. Change is incremental, and even though one may have radical ideas, it is essential to attach those ideas to those with the levers of power and funding, ensuring that the work and the ideas are pursued even at the risk of not getting applause. 2. Meet people where they are and start from there. She mentions an instance where some country directors could not understand why the organisation shifted from gender to a more rights-oriented approach. Sometimes, people are not opposed to change; they just do not understand. 3. Finally, it is okay to take what may be termed easier wins. For her and her team, this meant being actively involved in education programs and achieving those wins. These conversations are a breath of fresh air. They provide the nuances of leadership from different angles and, above all, show that change is a lifelong process.
The third of the four-episode conversation with Everjoice Win and Professor Awino Okech is out now. Listen here - https://lnkd.in/ec9kpAyy Follow us to ensure you do not miss the final episode and others on the legacy series.
