Really fascinating reading about Gallup’s Q12—their ongoing employee engagement meta-analysis that has grown to over 180,000 business units from 736 research studies, surveying over 64 million employees. A study spanning this much time can provide some incredibly valuable insight. For example, thanks to these decades worth of research, we can now say with relative certainty that: 💡 Profit is driven by other business outcomes such as customer loyalty, retaining top talent, productivity, quality of work, etc. 💡 The relationship between team engagement and employee retention is even stronger during challenging times, as was shownvduring past recessions and the COVID-19 pandemic. Organizations with strong, highly engaging cultures are more resilient in tough times. 💡 More highly engaged businesses tend to have higher employee wellbeing and greater involvement in organizational initiatives. And these are just a few findings that have remained consistent throughout the years. What's really interesting is that information remains universal—despite country, industry, or any other factor, company performance has always been inseparable from employee engagement. I definitely encourage leaders to check this out—it could be a great tool for informing leadership strategies. #Leadership #EmployeeEngagement #EmployeeRetention #GallupQ12

According to Aaron De Smet managers need to be aware of employee disengagement and its impact on the workplace. More than half of employees surveyed reported being dissatisfied with their jobs. To identify where employees fall on the satisfaction spectrum, managers can use a short quiz that assesses their level of engagement. The quiz helps categorize employees into different archetypes, such as quitters, disruptors, double-dippers, mildly disengaged, reliable and committed, and thriving stars. Moving employees up the satisfaction spectrum towards higher engagement is a strategic choice that can lead to better performance and higher well-being in the workplace. https://lnkd.in/gW8WB9VZ

Employee engagement and well-being are closely linked, but distinct, with research showing that addressing work determinants of well-being leads to more sustainable success and heightened engagement. By incorporating neuroscience insights, such as using dopamine-triggering recognition and fostering trust with oxytocin, companies can boost motivation and productivity today. As organizations increasingly adopt these science-based strategies, they will be better equipped to retain talent, improve focus, and foster creativity, creating a more engaged and resilient workforce for the future. #EmployeeEngagement
