Major props to one of the giants of ResProp Management, Angela Aguilar, celebrating her five-year anniversary with our team! 👉 Angela is a standout leader in so many ways. Most importantly, she’s a servant leader – she’s always hyper-attentive to the needs of the teams she leads, and digs in to help them get the work done – never afraid to dive deep and help push things forward. 💥But Angela is also a fierce competitor. Think about the affect Michael Jordan had on anyone who played on the same court–he elevated everyone’s game. On Michael’s court, you can't just show up and play–you come and give it your ALL. 👉 Same with Angela – when she commits to anything, it instantly motivates the team and suddenly they find a new gear to complete something that was previously unreachable. It’s a pleasure to work with you Angela – it’s been great fun (with a huge dose of HARD WORK) to build out ResProp with you. Last word here – Angela’s work ethic is unmatched. You literally have to peel her away from her work. This passion is infectious and again, is something that motivates everyone around her. Can’t wait to see what the next 5 years bring us–and while we’re at it, let’s make it 50 more! #workanniversary #leader #FAWOMO

2017 is when it all started and Shana Bryant Consulting was created. Imagine bidding on a contract in Martha's Vineyard and you never done this before. If you don't believe in yourself no one will. One of the best things about entrepreneurship is there will always be something new, something you've never done before, that pushes you to say yes. Saying yes without knowing exactly what your getting yourself into is where growth and confidence in your abilities come together. What you do know is you have the resources, network and fortitude to figure it out!! #8downs #imjustgettingstarted #shanabryantconsulting #eventplanner #bostonevents
This month, we're celebrating eight years of amazing events and fantastic collaborations at Shana Bryant Consulting. We're going to be looking back at some of our favorite moments, and we thought we start with Shana's first collaboration with Sheena Collier back in 2017. It was "The House on the Vineyard" weekend held by The Greater Boston Morehouse College Alumni Association, and the event featured an amazing list of attendees. We're looking forward to sharing memories with you as we celebrate! #CelebratingEightYears #SBC8 #WorkAnniversary

For Women’s History Month, we’re recognizing the successes and achievements of BARDA employees. Meet Connie Song, Lead Contract Specialist, Division of Contract Management and Acquisitions. One of Connie’s greatest career achievements to date is having the opportunity to support the BARDA mission and working with such a talented and dedicated group. She added, “specifically providing contracting support to the Division of Research, Innovation and Ventures (DRIVe) in launching new and novel program initiatives.” Connie’s advice to young women who are just starting their professional careers is: “stay true to yourself and pursue your passions. Those incremental steps (some of which will feel like steps backwards) toward achieving every goal you set out to tackle is part of the experience that makes those more challenging moments worthwhile — there’s no failure in learning.” Women strengthen public health and national security with their dedication to meaningful work. What Was I Doing at the Morgan Lewis Holiday Party When I Haven’t Worked There in Almost 15 Years? As an alumna, I’m reflecting on the value of alumni programs- not just for law firms but for organizations across industries. Why should companies invest in their alumni networks? Research from MIT Sloan Management Review highlights three key reasons: 1️⃣ Business Development: Former employees often refer clients, deals, and partnerships back to their previous companies. 2️⃣ Brand Advocacy: Alumni who feel valued become ambassadors, enhancing the company’s reputation. 3️⃣ Knowledge Sharing: Events like these foster an exchange of insights, keeping organizations innovative and connected. Alumni relationships are about more than nostalgia- they’re a strategic investment in long-term success. Tonight was a reminder of how lasting connections can benefit both individuals and organizations. Loved seeing you Amanda Slatin Peggy Finster Allison Adler Ira Rosenstein Ken Turnbull Brendan Killeen Leni Battaglia and MRod!! Acknowledging your achievements—big or small—is key to staying positive and growing, whether in your career or business. In a year full of challenges, taking time to recognize what you’ve accomplished helps you stay motivated and focused on your goals. Celebrating these wins lifts your spirits and reminds you of your ability to keep pushing forward. Being positive isn't just about having a good attitude; it's about recognizing your strength and how you’ve handled tough times. Keeping track of your successes can serve as a reminder of how far you’ve come and give you reasons to celebrate throughout the year. This simple practice helps you stay on track, stay motivated, and keep a positive outlook.

🥳 Congratulations to Jamie Toledo, our Economic Development Relationship Manager, on reaching 7 years at the Economic Alliance! In honor of the occasion, we asked her some questions reflecting on the past and looking forward to the future: • Why did you initially want to work for the Economic Alliance? I had the opportunity to work with supplier diversity programs in the past and small business recovery efforts after the flood. The impact on me personally and professionally has been a constant driver to see our business community thrive. The Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance provides a “one-stop shop” for connections to business resources and partnerships in the economic development space. It’s a privilege to support our diverse portfolio of existing businesses and help to welcome new ones to our community. • What has been the most rewarding part about being a part of this team? The unique perspective of working with an organization that gets to “see behind the curtain” by learning about how different industries operate and how all the dots connect. The scope of economic development has become more holistic as people start to understand how one aspect of the business community can affect so many others. It’s exciting to see our area forge into that new world. I learn something new every day. • How are you planning on celebrating your anniversary? AKA, what excites you about the upcoming year? I don’t typically take time to celebrate…but heading to one of our local restaurant establishments sounds like a plan I could tackle. I’m excited for it all! The talent and business attraction plans for the area, new collaborative efforts in the entrepreneur space, and quality of life projects in the hopper. There is a general feeling out there that our region is on the tipping point of significant growth, and that’s exciting. The • What is your favorite Economic Alliance brand color and why? Orange, as it represents optimism, energy, and creativity to me.
