A business I'm working with went from struggling to know what to do next, to growing extensively over the quarter. I'll tell you how we did it. The key was systemization and consistency. It doesn't matter if you have the most amazing marketing materials and make highly engaging content if it isn't put up consistently. The business owner complained that she was always behind with everything and she was constantly tired. After consulting with her we found out what the problem was: she was doing too much thinking too often. Many of the things she was doing throughout the day could be put into streamlined processes that would be completed much quicker and with much less effort. This is where systemization comes in. We formed a skeleton for the different types of content she makes on the company Facebook, and set days every week in which they would be released. I helped her create an employee handbook that gave employees more autonomy to complete more tasks throughout the day without the owner having to do it herself. Her business has been growing, she is less stressed, and she is consistently making progress. Making the system at the start can be hard, but it saves you more time, gives you less stress, and makes consistency easier.

Field Guide Research Post #1 (2 things) ☎️ Call for boring / bland / stale meeting room in Berlin! Im currently creating a video for my research series on rituals. For that I have a little scene in a very corporate meeting room / office. Now the question, does anybody here work in something like this, know something like this, have friends of friends that might work in something like this and will be open to let me in there with a camera for 2h to film something? Bonus points if it also includes a very old coffee machine! 🔎 Who has some inspiring rituals related to work and wants to talk to me about it? --- This is part of my new project which is called Employee Experience Field Guide. It will be an inspiring collection of real world examples of impactful employee experiences. The end result will be a playful book, but until im there I will log my research and the stories I discover at https://lnkd.in/guSUrRMa. Please subscribe to not miss out on: - Inspiring EX stories from the field - Research articles in topics like rituals, unlearning, offboarding - Nerding out on facilitation and workshop methods

Many of us know intuitively that positive #EmployeeEngagement leads to higher employee satisfaction, a greater ability to attract and retain top talent, and increased revenue. And yes, the research backs it up as well! Many organizations are not measuring engagement to understand how to improve and sustain it. Which is why I'm very excited to share a new introduction video of TINYpulse by WebMD Health Services. https://lnkd.in/gxS2VSDF Organizations using TINYpulse’s active listening techniques report that their employees feel valued and heard — essential elements of creating a winning culture. Through its suite of science-backed capabilities, TINYpulse allows organizations to offer feedback channels, enhance onboarding support, and provide peer-to-peer recognition. This enables leaders to understand their teams better, make better decisions, and increase communication and transparency in the workplace. #WellBeingMatters

How to be an employee advocate while maintaining your authentic voice: - Connect industry trends with your own expertise. Sharing a company blog post? Add your own insights about why it’s important rather than simply sharing a link to the piece. - Share personal growth stories tied to professional development. Discuss how a personal challenge helped you develop skills relevant to your work. - Highlight company culture through your personal lens. Share how your company's values align with your own, using specific examples from your experience. I hope you all have a plan for what to do when you're asked to turn over information on users broken down by whether their last name is in the list of the most common Hispanic last names, or a list of all users who have changed the gender setting in their profiles in your product. (tbh why are you even keeping that as a flag?) neveragain.tech means never again -- not a Muslim registry, not a Latinx registry, not a trans registry. Quit loudly if you can. Or at least apply the CIA simple sabotage manual to "always refer to a committee" and say you need more time to research the user requirements, can we please ensure that a committee of product managers and UX designers get a chance to talk to the ICE goons who would be using the system, ask to clarify whether the buttons should be moved one pixel to the left, then ask whether they should be moved one pixel to the right etc. https://lnkd.in/gtTEZ_ew

Nonprofits especially amass a lot of sensitive data about vulnerable people. This may be a good time to talk internally and seek legal advice regarding how specifically you will handle requests for data that might be used to target your clients. Also review your data and records retention policies and make sure you're actually destroying old records in accordance with those policies. Got old data you want to keep for longitudinal purposes? Consider purging personally-identifiable information (PII) from the data in favor of random ID numbers instead. #data #nonprofits #security
