When we make decisions in the landscape of Private Equity and Venture Capital, it's about more than just numbers – we rely on trust in the people we invest in. Or as Andreas Blidberg, CAIA likes to put it: “Without the right team, even the best business idea cannot achieve its fullest potential.” This is why at RootBridge we foster a club-driven approach that removes barriers and builds a sense of companionship among the founders and investors. #PrivateEquity #VentureCapital #InvestInPeople #Trust #Teamwork #YourBridgeToGrowth

How do you start a VC fund? 💸 I've never publicly shared the story behind Darkmode Ventures and how our operator model really works... until now. Key topics we discussed in this episode include: 1. How full time operators can become top quartile investors 2. Tradeoffs of taking a salary vs. re-investing your fees 3. What we got wrong with our 1st fund, and what worked better than we even hoped 4. Who my favorite emerging fund managers are (plz don't @ me) Let me know what you think: https://lnkd.in/g9QfKhMK

Delighted to be mentioned in this round-up of things to know for emerging managers of first-time funds! I am, of course, biased, but I believe that design is critical (and often overlooked) when developing marketing materials for any fund. Whether by creating an identifiable visual brand, providing an authentic and professional look within a crowded and competitive market, or streamlining complex information into clean visuals, design is a vital part of the pitch deck development process 🎨

VCs 📣 here’s a good question that all VCs should re-assess at least once a year: "Why venture? You could do many other things with your time, but why put up with what is a hard road for small VC funds and stick with it?" Think about why you keep choosing venture over other paths—beyond just the numbers. There's gotta be something special about it. ✨

We held an awesome webinar for our portfolio companies on fundraising in this market. Paul Abrahimzadeh, Citi’s Co-Head of North America Equity Capital Markets, anchored the discussion by sharing his perspective on the improving public and late-stage private markets in the context of previous interest rate cut cycles. Ryan Alam and I then shared how we see this impacting Series A-C companies and our thoughts on constructing an investor syndicate in light of how this market has also impacted venture capital funds. I think 2024 will likely be another frothy year for many venture backed companies, but we are also seeing pockets of incredible opportunity. Companies that are growing efficiently have as much fundraising momentum as ever. These founders can take advantage of this split market to widen the gap between them and their competitors. We continue to see quality businesses that have the building blocks for strong financial performance as well as positive impact on society and are excited to be deploying capital!
