Last week, together with Melvin Streefkerk and Suzanne Nederlof-Helming, I attended Amplify Her, a conference on Womens Visibilty. Thank you Nancy Poleon for this great afternoon, it was inspiring! A very powerful way to give women professionals a stage. Here are the key lessons we took away: 1. Women need men as advocates (#mavericks). If only women advocate for gender equality, progress stalls at 30%. But if men join in the (dog) fight, progress skyrockets to 96%. 2. Softness can be a superpower. Female leadership and authenticity are of great business value. Thanks for the inspiration Suzanne den Breems 3. Keep moving, don't wait for others to put you in position. Why? Because 7 in 10 (69%) women would rather minimise their successes than talk about them. This afternoon reminded us: women in business create a lot of value, but it is not always a given that they actually get into positions where that value is leveraged.
