It was great to do another session with JA, especially at my old high school. Yesterday’s session I was paired with David Watterson and we had a brilliant interactive session with the students! It was really nice to see the students really get involved and asking questions about getting a job and writing CV’s. The work JA do is brilliant as it’s not only the students that learn new things, you end up taking away a few things yourself. One thing I would say, if you’re ever scared or worried about doing training internally in your business, sign up to do a Junior Acheivement session first, if you can deliver a session to a class of teens you can certainly deliver a presentation to your colleagues! #junioracheivement #isleofman #volunteerday #volunteering

On Canada’s National Day of Indigenous Truth and Reconciliation, we are reminded of the ongoing journey toward healing, understanding, and justice. This day is not just about reflection, but about active participation in building a future where every person, regardless of their background, has the opportunity to thrive and be secure in their future. At Samuel Group of Companies, we recognize the responsibility we all share in making reconciliation a reality. Through our Indigenous Reconciliation Action Plan, we are committed to fostering partnerships with Indigenous communities across all our Group business units and nonprofit organizations. That's why we've established business partnerships with Millbrook First Nation, collaborating with Indigenous advanced manufacturers like ATMIS to support their federal government initiatives, while also fostering the next generation of Indigenous leaders through our internship program, including talented individuals like Meagan Boucher-Martin. Let’s come together with a shared vision of unity, respect, and equity, working hand in hand to create a better, more inclusive future for generations to come. Thank you to all our students who joined us in person and online for our Q&A session with the ever brilliant Dhruv Krishnaraj from Student Circus. You didn't give him easy questions! Key takeaways: - Finding and securing a job after graduation is your responsibility, make use of all the resources available. - Get organised, recruitment and hiring can start a year in advance, don't leave it until your last term. - UK recruitment practices will be very different from your home country and each company will have a unique process. You need to understand the rules of the game before playing. ➡️ All UK work experience is important. ➡️ Get involved in life outside your course. ➡️ Network to know people and let them know you, don't dive straight in asking for a job! ➡️ Make use of your careers service 😁 ➡️ Book a room that's easy to find 🤷♀️ Careers Queen's University Belfast Careers, Employability and Skills at Queen's University Belfast Ciarán McMullan Eimear Gallagher Karl Webb Queen's Business School #InternationalStudents #FutureReady #LoveQUB
