When it comes to street network design, a “gridiron” pattern is often considered the gold standard. A grid-style street network can offer some key advantages compared to curvilinear street design: 🧭 Easy Navigation: Streets are oriented in a consistent and predictable pattern which makes wayfinding and getting around simple and intuitive. 🔀 Improved Connectivity: Multiple route options allow for more choice, greater travel efficiency, and improved transit service. 🏗️ Efficient Use of Land: Maximizes the potential of every parcel, making development easier and more organized. 🚶♀️ Pedestrian-Friendly: Linear streets and frequent intersections encourage walking and cycling and promote healthier lifestyles. While different contexts require different street network designs, grid-style systems shine in urban areas where connectivity and efficient use of land are key! #urbanplanning #urbandesign #design

The Future of Co-Living Spaces As we see more people working remotely and seeking connection over ownership, co-living spaces are becoming the answer to modern living challenges. But designing these spaces isn’t as simple as putting a few people under one roof—it’s about creating environments where individuality and community can coexist. At SCENE, we see the potential for co-living to transform urban environments, offering affordable housing, fostering a strong sense of community, and encouraging sustainable living. Our goal is to design co-living spaces that are more than just places to sleep—they’re spaces that nurture relationships, creativity and growth. The future of urban living starts with community. A fundamental shift in #subdivision design starts with hiding cars from the public realm. Instead of placing #garages and #parkinglots at the forefront, we can relegate them to the back, out of sight, or #integrate them in wrapped and covered parking structures, while maintaining private and direct access. This approach creates a more inviting #publicrealm that prioritizes pedestrians and fosters safer, quieter, and more #livablestreets. By incorporating features like rear-lane access and #shareddriveways, we reduce the dominance of #vehicles and open up space for greenery and communal areas. #Development #Planning #UrbanDesign #Architecture https://lnkd.in/ggjNPAdd

Mindful street design reduces the need for long commutes, reduces the street traffic volume by going beyond the traditional approach, addresses the root causes of traffic congestion, and offers sustainable, innovative solutions. By embracing a holistic view that considers pedestrians, public transit, technology, and green spaces, Indian cities can pave the way to a future where traffic congestion is a thing of the past. Mixed-use zones also create vibrant, walkable neighbourhoods, enhancing the overall urban experience. Integrating green spaces and urban parks into the cityscape provides more than aesthetic benefits. These areas serve as natural traffic mitigators, offering residents alternative spaces for recreation and relaxation. By creating attractive destinations within the city, we can disperse traffic and reduce the concentration of vehicles in specific areas. Delving into the intricacies of our current project Lakeside11, we want to explain why it stands out among the rest. At the core of our vision is a commitment to the comfort of our future residents, leading us to make a conscious decision not to allocate all spaces within our complex for conventional parking lots. Instead, we've taken stylobates as the basis for our project, seamlessly connecting the residential blocks. And placed parking spaces underneath them. By adopting this approach, we ensure that our residents can step out of their entrances directly onto the stylobate, where a host of amenities awaits them – from inviting recreation areas and entertainment spots to vibrant children's playgrounds. This thoughtfully designed space not only adds greenery to our complex but also creates a safe environment for families to stroll with their children. The result is a complex with a light and airy aesthetic, achieved through the use of this design. We're curious to know your thoughts on this technical solution – do you find it as compelling as we do? #RRG #RRGRealEstateGroup #RealEstateDevelopment #Bucharest #BucharestRealEstate #Innovation #DesignExcellence #Technicalsolutions
