Excited to share our multi-author review now published at The Plant Cell: "Perspectives on improving photosynthesis to increase crop yield". Several leading researchers in the field of photosynthesis (and me 😶) discuss how we can use modeling, natural variation, and my personal favorite, genetic engineering, to sustainably improve crop performance in the face of climate change. Special shoutout to our section on plant photoprotection (NPQ), covering what Kris Niyogi & I think are the reasons why NPQ has been successfully engineered in some species but not others 🌤🌾.

𝐌𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐚-𝐁𝐢𝐨𝐒𝐨𝐥: the French project that aims to measure the impact of 𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 on the biological quality of soil to answer the many questions of farmers involved in anaerobic digestion processes. 🔬 What is the #BBNJ Agreement, why is it important for researchers and how does it link in with Marine Genetic Resources (#MGR)? These and many more questions were addressed at the recent BBNJ Policy Workshop organised by BlueRemediomics partners from the University of Aberdeen in California.
