Cambridge Partnership for Education ’s Post

Over the weekend Jane Mann and Christine Ozden joined ICESCO at COP16Riyadh to explore how Cambridge and ICESCO's co-authored Greening Education Framework policy recommendations can support education leaders across the globe. In these challenging times, education is key to building resilience and sustainability. Together, we explored practical ways to empower education system leaders to prepare future generations for a rapidly changing world. 📌 Friday highlights Jane participated in a panel on "Governance in climate education: building inclusive, data-driven educational models for a sustainable future." The discussion, moderated by ICESCO’s Dr Ahmad Albanyan and Waqas Afridi, brought leaders from the ministries of education in Oman and Saudi Arabia, UNESCO, the Islamic Development Bank, universities and private organisations together to focus on the urgent need to transform education systems to meet climate challenges. Jane emphasised: ✅ The integration of climate education into broader educational reforms. ✅ Alignment with global frameworks such as the SDGs. ✅ Partnerships as catalysts for effective, inclusive governance. 📌 Saturday highlights Jane and Waqas moderated the session "Greening education for a resilient future," co-hosted by ICESCO and Cambridge with leaders from across the middle east and beyond. This session focused on embedding climate knowledge, skills, and resilience into education systems globally. Christine shared her insights on the critical role of partnerships in driving sustainable change and accelerating the transition towards greener education, especially focusing on girls' education. Events like this remind us that international collaboration is not just valuable—it is essential. We are looking forward to building on this momentum in 2025 and beyond.  #ClimateEducation #Sustainability #GreeningEducation #COP16
