Did you catch CBS Evening News' recent feature on our restoration efforts in South Central Oregon? 🌲 This area has faced devastating impacts from large, severe wildfires. Together with the USDA Forest Service, Collins Pine Co., and other partners, we’re implementing a cutting-edge restoration plan to rebuild forests that can better withstand fire and climate challenges. The Fremont-Winema National Forest is just one example of the incredible work being done nationwide through the REPLANT Act to restore our national forests. Hear from our expert Brian Kittler on why climate-resilient reforestation is key to protecting these landscapes: https://lnkd.in/d9NRPTeJ

🌱 Restoring Louisiana's Marshes, One Tree at a Time 🌱 At ECO|RESTORE, our mission to reforest sensitive ecosystems begins with the very first step—germinating and growing the trees that will breathe new life into environments like the Louisiana marshes. In the photo, our team is closely monitoring the root ball development of a young cypress tree, planted earlier this year. This hands-on approach ensures that every tree we plant has the best chance to thrive, supporting healthy ecosystems for generations to come. 🌍 We take pride in providing our clients with comprehensive survivability reports, ensuring transparency and accountability in our restoration efforts. 🌿 Did you know? Native bald cypress trees play a critical role in coastal resilience, helping to stabilize soil and reduce the impact of storms.

Webinar Alert WEDNESDAY, April 17, 2024 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM The Role of Riparian Buffers in Watersheds and in your Local Landscape Juliana Barrett & Chet Arnold In this presentation we will explore what riparian buffers are and why they are a critical component of both our coastal and inland communities. Riparian buffers play a critical role in water quality and watershed protection, provide wildlife habitat, and assist with climate resilience. Because of the transitional nature of riparian buffers (wet to dry), these areas allow for a variety of non-traditional landscaping choices and designs that still allow for water access and water viewsheds. The current state of riparian buffers will also be discussed. Register (free) at: https://lnkd.in/eWPpxDrU

Did you know that a recent survey found that 86% of respondents support the U.S. Forest Service's plans to preserve old-growth forests? For many, old-growth forests reflect a way of life, whether through outdoor recreation or active stewardship and management through their local community. Updating the Northwest Forest Plan is one way we can play an active role in helping the Forest Service better refine the ways we manage and steward old-growth forests.

🌳 What do you love about our woodlands? 💧🍄 We're reflecting today on the multiple benefits that our woodlands deliver to people and the planet, from clean air to water retention and purification. Our woodlands, and their benefits, are precious and in need of our collective support and action. In Natural England's recent #StateofNaturalCapital report, they found the following benefits from woodlands are at some level of risk from drivers of change (such as pests and disease and climate change): 🟡 Yellow (medium risk): Clean air, clean water and plentiful water 🟠 Orange (medium - high risk): Erosion control, Cultural benefits, Climate regulation and Flood protection 🔴 Red (high risk): Thriving plants and wildlife, timber and other wood products ❤️ Show your support for woodlands and all they do for us by creating a post or leaving a comment telling us what you love about woodlands, and get involved in your local woodland conservation efforts. ⬇️ To read the full report, follow this link: https://lnkd.in/e4ScvwJC

BREAKING NEWS! 🚨 The Bureau of Land Management has taken a powerful step to safeguard some of America’s wildest lands by moving to permanently protect 28 million acres in Alaska. Protecting Alaska’s Homelands is a priority TCA campaign because: 1️⃣ This is a huge win for tribally led conservation efforts. 2️⃣ This region connects land conservation and climate. 3️⃣ Protecting Alaska’s Homelands would be a boon for businesses and the economy. More than 140 federally recognized Alaska Native Tribes, local communities, and businesses representing Alaska’s $2.6 billion outdoor recreation industry have voiced support for permanently protecting this landscape. We are proud to have supported that work through on the ground partners like SalmonState. Today’s news is just one step toward finalizing protections for this region.
