Excited to share my journey in "Evaluating Public Health Programs at Scale" its only the first week and this personalized course by Johns Hopkins University has been a game-changer in my understanding of program evaluation within the global health sphere. 🔍 Delving into the importance of program evaluations, I've learned how they serve as a reality check on subjective expectations, guide program improvement, and justify continued funding. The focus on large-scale RMNCH&N programs in low and middle-income countries has provided invaluable insights into addressing real-world challenges. 💡 Exploring various evaluation types and designs, I've gained practical skills in assessing program performance and impact. Understanding the "evidence ecosystem" you're working in is essential for anyone working to make or influence policy. It helps decision-makers know where to go to get the best evidence to tackle the challenges they face, and those producing evidence know how to see impact from what they learn. Patients and the Public: Shaping the Future of Health Data Research 💡 At HDR UK Wales, we believe that meaningful research starts with collaboration. Claire Newman our PPIE Lead, is championing this approach by placing patient and public voices at the heart of health data research. In October, Claire organised a PPIE event where members of the public engaged directly with researchers from the HDR UK Wales Driver Programmes. How can partnerships go beyond theory & talk to deliver real impact? At Watsi, we're focused on teaming up to get things done. And, we know that we need to collaborate across sectors to make healthcare accessible for everyone. No one is going to achieve this alone. That's why I love seeing this new insights report from the team at Bay Area Global Health Alliance that uncovers practical strategies needed to overcome barriers in implementing health interventions that have the potential to change millions of lives. From strengthening collaboration frameworks to improving data usage and innovative financing models, the report shares actionable steps for advancing health equity and closing the "know-do gap". Alongside other BAGHA members, our work focuses on building partnerships that turn ideas into scalable and tangible solutions for the biggest global health challenges of our time.
