Obtaining a higher education is a means of success for so many students. Students who will go on to lead change for generations to come. An IU education changed my life, and I want others to experience that as well. This is what fuels my ambition to run as a member for Indiana University’s Board of Trustees. So proud to be a part of the Busch School of Business and The Catholic University of America! If you want to learn more about cultivating virtue while studying Human Resources/People and Organizations, message me to connect. #virtue #businessschool #university #humanresources
Upgrading the human operating system, together · Dean, Busch School of Business · Harvard University faculty affiliate · Superhabits book author · Forbes contributor
I am delighted to announce that The Catholic University of America has been awarded a $1 million grant from The Program for Leadership and Character at Wake Forest University to further our efforts in cultivating virtue among all our undergraduate students. We'll be using a "double-duty" approach, so that students will be practicing particular virtues while learning the subject matter of the particular course they are taking. In this way, every single Catholic University student will be explicitly cultivating multiple virtues throughout their undergraduate career -- something unprecedented in any university.

The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award (‘The Duke of Ed’) is an exciting international youth development program in which all of our elected Year 9 Leaders participate, along with other students who nominated to be part of the program. The program plays a pivotal role in developing our students’ leadership skills and resilience as they transition from Middle School into Senior School. A big shout out to Duke of Edinburgh Leader and Head of Inclusion, Kirsty Keay for her passion and drive in leading the Duke of Ed Awards program at KG and to Middle School Principal Jessica Walker for her enthusiasm and support of the program. The program has many benefits including: 1. Personal Development: Participation in the Duke of Edinburgh Awards encourages students to set goals, push their boundaries, and develop essential life skills such as teamwork, communication, and problem-solving. 2. Physical Fitness: The program promotes physical activity through its requirements for participation in sports, physical recreation, and adventurous activities, fostering a healthy and active lifestyle among students. 3. Leadership Skills: Students have the opportunity to take on leadership roles within their groups, honing their leadership abilities, decision-making skills, and confidence in their own capabilities. 4. Community Engagement: Through volunteering and service activities, participants contribute positively to their communities, developing empathy, social responsibility, and a sense of civic duty. 5. Resilience and Perseverance: Undertaking the challenges presented by the Duke of Edinburgh Awards cultivates resilience and perseverance in students as they navigate obstacles, setbacks, and the demands of the program. 6. Recognition and Achievement: Completing the program and earning the Duke of Edinburgh Award provides students with a tangible recognition of their efforts, achievements, and personal growth, enhancing their self-esteem and motivation. 7. Global Perspective: The program encourages participants to explore new environments, cultures, and experiences, fostering a broader understanding of the world and promoting global citizenship. Below is a fantastic video produced by Education Queensland showcasing KGSC and our staff and students involved in the program. https://lnkd.in/gRrVMjFv #dukeofedinburgh #dukeofedinburghaward #youthleadership #PersonalGrowth #GlobalCitizenship #nurturinggloballycompetentlearnersleadersandcitizens #ThePursuitofExcellenceWithAllOurMight #YourPreptoPathwaysExperience

LEADING EDGE COLLABORATION: Yesterday St. Ambrose University and Mount Mercy University launched a pathbreaking collaboration that will lead to more pathways of access and afforability for students at both institutions beginning in fall 2024. The two universities are also working to facilitate a seamless transition of qualified students from undergraduate into 18 distinct graduate degree programs that will now be opened up to students at both universities. As well, under this agreement, learners can access expanded certificate programs for workplace upskilling and reskilling and twelve-degree completion programs aimed at adult learners. The goal of the agreement is to expand access to, and the affordability of, quality education for traditional students and adult learners alike. We also see anticipated student benefits that will include reduced time to degree completion (for both undergraduate and graduate degress), early-entry into graduate programs, a strengthened core curriculum, and new opportunities for adult learners to obtain certificates and enhance their skills in the competitive labor market. Moreover, we remain committed to our values-based education grounded in our Catholic tradition with practical application for the workplace and our world. We continue to explore the viability of a strategic combination that would allow for greater administrative and operational efficiences. I am immensely grateful for the leadership of Mount Mercy University President Todd Olson and the MMU Board of Trustees along with the SAU Board of Trustees for the innovative and collaborative work. #EduTogether https://lnkd.in/gc5SNiYM
