Grateful for the Best Places to Work recognition for the FOURTH year in a row! Highlighting two of our defined Core Behaviors I feel strongly lead to employees thriving day after day and year after year through the minutes to moments to milestones. 1- BUILD UP - We value leadership that equips others and want all employees to ask themselves daily how they can help increase the capacity of others. 2- UP A NOTCH- How am I setting the bar and improving personally and professionally? We desire to do excellent, bar-setting work because our colleagues, participants in the mission, corporate partners, volunteers, nonprofit and community partners, benefactors and the community are worth it! Do good work and do it with excellence!

Truly one-of-a-kind service from a one-of-a-kind person.
Each month, we celebrate our work anniversaries through our Milestone Program, but rarely do we get to celebrate such a significant achievement as 30 years! On this day in 1994, our current CEO Keith Wolken hired Cecil Sloley. Since then, Cecil has managed countless transitions, accounts, programs, and employees at Service Management Systems. Though he has seen a lot of change over three decades, a few things remain the same – his embodiment of our 12 core values and “Whatever it Takes!” motto, his passion and commitment to seeing our company succeed, and his investment in his team and employees. We are honored to still have him as part of our Executive Leadership Team and wish him continued success throughout his career. 🎉 Celebrating one year of hygge associates! 🎉 It’s hard to believe it’s already been a year since we launched hygge associates. Balancing starting a new business whilst doing the day job has had its challenges, but it’s been absolutely worth it. This year has been a rollercoaster of highs and lows, teaching us that persistence, resilience, and self-belief are key. Now we’re beginning to see the rewards of our hard work. Would we have done things differently? Perhaps. We’ve talked to other people who have left their jobs entirely to start their businesses, who have told me they wish they’d taken our path. What we’ve learned is that there’s no right or wrong way—just different approaches, each with its own merits. As we look ahead, we’re excited about what the next year will bring. At hygge associates, people development and wellbeing are at the heart of what we do. We'd also like to thank everyone who has supported us as well as our clients. We offer training, coaching, and consulting to workplaces as well as private individuals. Want to learn more? Visit our website at www.hyggeassociates.co.uk or contact us at hello@hyggeassociates.co.uk.

It's rare to find a company that celebrates who you are, not just what you can do for them. Last week marked my first work anniversary at Gartner. As someone working in the fraught field of DEI, I spend a large part of my days thinking about how to make workplaces fairer & safer in an increasingly volatile context. Upon reflection, the key reason I feel safe where I work, is because my values and needs are validated and nurtured by my role, and the brilliant people I work with. Here's how. - Curiosity. A large part of my job is to continuously learn and adapt my advice. A year in, there's an alchemy brewing when the collective wisdom - from client calls, colleague brainstorming, training, podcasts & reading - starts becoming greater than the sum of its parts. - Pragmatic altruism. This role allows me to provide strategic advice to senior leaders at the world's best companies, helping solve some of their trickiest DEI and talent challenges. Deeply satisfying to scale my positive impact by helping people who are helping people. - Pursue excellence, with boundaries. I am empowered (with a balance of support and autonomy) to do my best in my core role AND pursue relevant shiny side quests (I'm your resident gen AI hype woman). But I also clock off at a reasonable hour to enjoy a full life outside work. Ironically, de-centring work from my personal identity, has allowed me to pursue work with renewed vigour - approaching it as an integral, but not the only part of an abundant, fulfilling life. In the current climate, stories of disconnect at work are often louder than ones of validation, and rightly so. But to keep the energy for the good work going, care to share a story of when you felt celebrated for who you were, at work?

A quick shoutout to our awesome people, who are THE reason Newsweek has recognized us as a Most Loved Workplace! You’re the ones who make this place what it is, and that’s why this award means so much to us. But it’s not just about the recognition - it’s about keeping that energy alive every single day. So, how do we keep it going? It all starts with bringing on great people who fit our culture, add something to it, and most of all, bring so much passion to what they do. Celebrating wins, big or small, is key, and there’s always space for sharing ideas and learning from each other. The goal is to create a place where everyone feels like they belong and can grow. Here’s to our amazing team - you’re the reason this place rocks! Most Loved Workplaces® Best Practice Institute
