They are interested in acquiring individual partners, teams and in one case, small firms. Each have partners who are ex top tier who joined the firm to relieve some of the pressures of being in a top firm, or some of the politics in a larger organisation. And each firm has a different remuneration model which for most partners is better than the more traditional 1/3 practice size model. There are also no age barriers to entry so for the partners who are coming up against this and are not ready to stop, these boutiques could be a great option.
