The festive season is upon us and like every year, it’s an important time to reflect and think of others who may be in need of a little help and kindness. That’s why at Bramwith, this December we’ve pledged to support Refuge Network International, a non-profit humanitarian organisation whose mission is to fight against social injustices and alleviate human suffering. The team has worked together to collect food, toiletries and clothing which we will be donating to a local foodbank for families facing challenging times right now. Refuge Network International is a wonderful organisation that runs community events throughout the year which includes their soup kitchen and outreach programs to support highly vulnerable community members. They provide lunch and survival packs to homeless individuals, rough sleepers, and those in need in Central London every single week. 👉 You can find out more about the work they do and how you can support them on their website.

Does $250,000 sound like a lot to you? It's a lot of money to me! And, when I think of it as one big amount it can be overwhelming. However, if split up amongst more it's totally do-able! Do you have $500 you could donate for a tax deduction this year? If 250 people or companies donated $1,000 we could pay for our community center today. If 500 people or companies donated $500 we could pay for our community center today. Splitting up the cost between 250 or 500 people makes it bite-size. Be Humanitarian needs your help to raise $250,000 to build a community center in Guatemala. The center will support our mission to improve lives and uplift the community. This center will include: 1. Accommodation- 6 rooms for over 20+ volunteers and teachers 2. Preschool - Providing early childhood education to break the cycle of poverty 3. Learning Space, Community Kitchen & Sewing Center - A hub for community meetings, workshops, and educational activities 4. Income Opportunities - The Community Center creates employment opportunities as moms work to maintain the building and the land To donate any amount, go to https://lnkd.in/eGbp-Dsv #GivingTuesday #Behumanitarian

What's more important in the world of a nonprofit - the mission, or fundraising? In my world, I don't think you can answer one without the other. No matter the mission, there is always a "cost" of doing do. Our Foundation provides household furniture and accessories to veterans exiting homelessness, first responders and victims of domestic violence and human trafficking. The furniture and accessories we use in our furnishings comes from donors all across our region of operations. So because the items are being donated most folks don't see the need to financially support our organization...as we get the items we need to support our mission at no cost! What donors don't understand is that it takes on average 3-4 donation pickup missions to meet the need of one veteran. Fuel, labor, storage, insurance - the cost of "doing good" is not cheap! In order to keep our mission moving forward, our Foundation has created several Community Outreach events that we do each year to raise the necessary funding to sustain our efforts for the year. May - Tee-Up to End Homelessness Charity Golf Tournament August 10, 2024 - Charity Car Show September 28, 2024 - Chesterfield Freedom Festival November 8, 2024 - Walk to End Homelessness We are looking for Corporate Partners to help us with the three remaining events this year. Send me an email if your company is interested in becoming a partner in Ending Homelessness - Rick@VetTrack.org.

🌟 We're thrilled to introduce our latest initiative: Remote Charity Team Building! This virtual event is designed not only to strengthen team bonds but also to make a significant impact in the community. 🎨 How It Works: Participants will receive a canvas tote bag to unleash their creativity by painting inspiring messages. Once these masterpieces are complete, they are sent back to us. 🛍️ Making a Difference: We fill these personalized bags with essential homeless kits and nutritious canned food items. These bags are then donated to local homeless shelters, delivering not just necessities but also messages of hope and support. 🤝 Why Participate? This is a perfect opportunity to bring your remote team together for a cause that makes a real difference. It's more than team building; it's community building. Join us in making a difference while strengthening your team. Let’s paint, fill, and donate together! Rockoly #TeamBuilding #SocialImpact #RemoteWork #RockolyEvents

🚨 Support Needed for Life-Changing Homelessness Fundraiser 🚨 I’m reaching out on behalf of my good friend, Jake Hamilton, who works for an incredible charity called We Are Mobilise. They are currently in the midst of their largest-ever fundraising campaign to support people experiencing homelessness. The goal is to raise $10 million, and they’ve already passed the $1.2 million mark thanks to amazing support from individuals and brands. To help drive this campaign, Nedd Brockmann is running an unbelievable 1,600km around Sydney Olympic Park! He’s now over 1,300km in, and there’s still a final push needed to reach that $10 million goal. Here’s how you can help: 📢 Corporate Opportunity: Hamish Blake has offered to give a special Instagram shoutout to any company that pledges $100k or more by tomorrow night. This is a massive chance for any brand looking to gain exposure (1.2M+ followers!) while aligning with a cause that’s changing lives. But it’s not just about the big donations. So far, personal contributions have been the driving force behind the $1.2 million raised, making this a truly community-powered effort. Every little bit counts! If you or your organisation is interested in getting involved, I’d love to connect you with Jake Hamilton. Let’s help make a tangible difference for those facing homelessness. #compliancelab #wearemobilise #support

please vote for boomerang cardiff 1172898 who are boomerang cardiff you ask ? Boomerang Cardiff started its journey as a homeless/poverty organisation, helping citizens that live on the streets who still deserve a little dignity, however the journey developed moving in different directions but still keeping its identity with regards to tackling poverty. Boomerang Cardiff has been developed with the community and volunteers, many volunteers are driven by previous lived experience of homelessness, poverty and social isolation. Following a period of falling on hard times and experiencing homelessness as a self-employed businessman, founder Paul Gwilym began to work with the local community, creating and funding the project himself. Overview: Under the umbrella of Boomerang Cardiff, there are now FIVE sections to the project: Homelessness/Prevention of Homelessness Poverty, In work poverty/Critical Living Conditions Community Engagement/Education Social Isolation/Loneliness Health/Physical Wellbeing Boomerang Cardiff focus on the needs of the community from all suburbs of Cardiff and work with the community in a number of ways; as a charitable organisation we work hand in hand with the community to support/prevent homelessness, poverty, critical living conditions and social isolation. We aim to help and support local people and families that are down on their luck, quickly and efficiently, working to promote, benefit and empower the inhabitants of Cardiff without distinction of sex, sexual orientation, race or of political, religious or other opinions in a common effort to enhance living standards. BENEVOLENCE Last night, I had the pleasure of attending the Merton branch of Faith in action to hear of just how many homeless people have benefitted from their essential support for the homeless. We heard from the amazing people who give up their time to help the homeless in the Borough of Merton and we heard some wonderful turn around stories from those who have been able to find homes and jobs also. Unfortunately, we also heard of 9 lives tragically lost last year, how the average life expectancy of the homeless is just 46 and how the number of homeless people, including children, has doubled in a matter of a few years. Contrary to what some heartless (and brainless) politicians believe, homelessness is NOT "a lifestyle choice." These people do NOT choose to be on the streets. Unfortunately, due to instability in the job sector, beurocracy in the housing and benefits system, and a major lack in accommodation, it is far too easy and common for people to find themselves in this situation. I helped at my church's night shelter over Christmas and NYE and saw firsthand just how essential these charities are and how warm, appreciative, and HUMAN those using them are. The homeless can so easily become invisible to society as we go about our daily lives, however, it is crucial we remember that these people are people just like you and I. Their situation doesn't make them any less deserving of acknowledgement, respect and compassion. Life can be cruel, people can make mistakes and bad choices. But EVERYONE deserves the opportunity to turn things around and that is exactly what charities like Faith in action do. If you can, PLEASE consider how you and/ or your business can help the homeless in your area. Whether that's through corporate sponsorship, offering training, or even work, donating food, sleeping bags, toiletries and clothes, or giving up some time to help at a shelter or drop-in centre. As part of humankind, it is our duty to be HUMANE and KIND. #Faithinaction #Mertonfaithinaction #helpthehomeless #Londonhomeless #homelesscharity

Today we're shining a spotlight on another of our incredible Sleepout attendees and fundraisers, giving their time, and mobilising the support of their community to get behind RESTART Lives and help to protect and empower the most vulnerable members of society. Theo will be there alongside the RESTART team and community, sleeping outside in potential sub zero temperatures on December 6th, and is fundraising to support the ongoing work of our charity. Check out his JustGiving page to see more of his story and incredible progress - he's set a whopping target of £25,000 so consider helping him get over the line by donating any amount you can spare today. You can also see all the other Sleepers getting behind this event and our charity over on JustGiving. A recent Amnesty study showed that 77% of people believe homelessness is a top priority issue to address in the UK, and at the same time new government figures showed that we now having the highest rate of homelessness in terms of households anywhere in the developed world. If you want to be part of positive change, consider sleeping out https://lnkd.in/gURekGdC or donating to the cause today.
On December 6, am sleeping out to support Restart Lives. So grateful to all the friends who have so kindly and generously donated in support of the growing number of Londoners who have to sleep rough. It’s an amazing amount so far that will go a long way towards supporting this organisation, yet we have ground to cover next 4 weeks to get to our ambitious goal. Please take a minute to click on the link and read about it - and still time to register and join for the December 6 Sleep Out ! Thank you 🙏

The519 Pledge is a community initiative that happens from October 1st – November 15th each year. The initiative was brought to light to change the conversation around homelessness leading into the colder months of the year. 519Pursuit encourages folks in the community to take the pledge to obtain 519 pairs of new #socks to donate. Each individual or team begins a conversation with their #friends, #families and #networks for six weeks to raise awareness of items and solutions that could support those facing #homelessness. The immediate ask in support is a #donation of a brand new pair or pack of socks. Throughout the past 6 years we have led successful campaigns by raising over 428,000 pairs of socks. Over the past 6 years these socks have been used to support individuals facing homelessness and extreme poverty through community outreach as well as donated forward to over 80 other community groups, services and shelters from #London – #Toronto. Each year the need for socks becomes more significant. Socks are one of the most asked for items and least thought to be donated. Consider joining 519Pursuit this fall and taking the pledge to raise 519 pairs of socks. Fill out the form below and register to participate as an individual or as a team. Ensure to click YES to receive emails so you can get your complete Campaign Tool Kit! #lndont
