Does $250,000 sound like a lot to you? It's a lot of money to me! And, when I think of it as one big amount it can be overwhelming. However, if split up amongst more it's totally do-able! Do you have $500 you could donate for a tax deduction this year? If 250 people or companies donated $1,000 we could pay for our community center today. If 500 people or companies donated $500 we could pay for our community center today. Splitting up the cost between 250 or 500 people makes it bite-size. Be Humanitarian needs your help to raise $250,000 to build a community center in Guatemala. The center will support our mission to improve lives and uplift the community. This center will include: 1. Accommodation- 6 rooms for over 20+ volunteers and teachers 2. Preschool - Providing early childhood education to break the cycle of poverty 3. Learning Space, Community Kitchen & Sewing Center - A hub for community meetings, workshops, and educational activities 4. Income Opportunities - The Community Center creates employment opportunities as moms work to maintain the building and the land To donate any amount, go to https://lnkd.in/eGbp-Dsv #GivingTuesday #Behumanitarian

Country of origin should never define the opportunities and outcomes in life. I have dedicated 10 years of my life to an organization that provides opportunities out of poverty in Malawi "The Warm Heart of Africa". I am running the NYC marathon and raising $10k for Yamba Malawi, an incredible organization dedicated to transforming the lives of vulnerable children and their families in Malawi. How You Can Help? 1. Donate: Every contribution, big or small, brings us closer to our $10k goal. 2. Share: Help spread the word by sharing this link below with your friends, family, or social networks. https://lnkd.in/e3gssXPd

Our friend Paul Benveniste is on the Board of an amazing non-profit called For Change Co., which supports young people who are at risk of being homeless. This cause is dear to my heart, as I was homeless twice as a young woman, fleeing situations of domestic violence. I wouldn't be here today without the kindness of strangers who helped me during my darkest days. Organizations like For Change Co. are vital to help change the stigma associated with this social issue, so we can show up with compassion and empathy for our unhoused neighbors who need our help. Here is where you come in: If you are able to donate today to this worthy cause, all donations will be doubled by generous partners. For Change Co.'s flagship training and employment program is Pathways for Change, training young people in hospitality (café) skills. This work is essential to set young people on a path to stable employment, providing not just income but leading to greater accommodation opportunities and enduring self-belief. Donations on Matched Donation Day will mean; $50 can provide two people with one hour on-the-job and fully supported workplace training $100 can provide two people with a financial literacy and budgeting workshop, with take-home resources. $500 can provide two people with individualised support to develop a resume, cover letter, and interview skills. Plus, support through the job application process and ongoing coaching. Thanks so much! 🙏 💜 #socialimpact #changeagents https://lnkd.in/gefw6pZ5

Donating your shoes can help provide hope and an opportunity for a better life to those in need. So I need your help this holiday. Please rummage through your closets and find shoes to give. Place them in your neighborhoods to help those in need this Christmas. Would you consider putting out a pair of shoes in your neighborhoods to help the homeless without any fees added? During this holiday, would your governments consider establishing committees to ensure "people without shoes" have the opportunity to get a pair for the holiday? According to available data, an estimated 300 million people globally are unable to afford shoes, highlighting the significant need for shoe donation programs to those living in poverty; this figure is often cited by organizations like you when advocating for shoe donations. So globally we all do our part at giving to what matters most. Give to the soles of our world.

Many people feel like "there's nothing I can do to reduce poverty worldwide," but donating can increase one's sense of self-efficacy. Furthermore, once someone’s self-efficacy is heightened, they are more likely to donate again. That’s why it’s important to encourage people to make that first donation and get them into this positive cycle. I came across a study from the UK that tracked donors and found this to be true. Interestingly, the hypothesis that people with higher self-efficacy are more likely to donate was rejected. Instead, it’s the act of donating that increases self-efficacy. If taking the action of donating leads more people to feel, "I can do something to make the world a better place," then a fundraiser’s role is more than just raising money—it’s incredibly meaningful.

#MentalHealthAwarenessMonth Stable and comfortable housing is essential in order to keep your mental health in check. For many of us, housing may never be a concern, but could you imagine having to constantly worry about where you might be living or if that home is going to be comfortable based on your needs? This is the struggle many people with I/DD face on a regular basis, not just getting housing, but whether or not that home will be properly fitted to them. Una Casa Mas is a Bay Area Housing Corp fund that helps ensure people's homes are modified to their personal needs and to allow them to age in place. The funds can also be used for general repairs or maintenance that perhaps an individual with I/DD does not have the means to do themselves. Consider donating today to help contribute to our mission! 🌟 Join Me in Making a Difference! 🌟 I am excited to share that I am running the 2025 Oxford Half Marathon to raise funds for a charity Care4Calais that once supported me during my time as an asylum seeker. As someone who once sought refuge, I know firsthand the challenges faced by asylum seekers. They provide essential legal advice, basic needs, and local activities to those who have fled persecution and conflict. To help continue their vital work, please know that your contribution—no matter how small, even a penny—can make a significant difference in the lives of these vulnerable individuals. Why Donate? • Support Vulnerable People: Help those fleeing persecution and conflict rebuild their lives. • Provide Essential Services: Your contributions will fund legal assistance, basic needs, and community activities. Let’s come together to make a meaningful impact. Every donation counts! 💚 #SupportRefugees #makeadifference

Over the next 6 months, we at SDGforHer will be visiting 10 public secondary schools, empowering girls aged 13-17 by introducing them to "non-traditional career paths." We'd also like to tackle period poverty by providing sanitary pads in the tote bags we'll be giving out. But we need your help! Here's how you can make a difference: 1) Donate Pads: Every pad counts! You can purchase sanitary pads and ship them to our location. 2) Donate Funds: Donate towards our pad purchase goal at the account number provided on the flyer. Together, let's break down period poverty and empower these young women towards a brighter career path. ❤️ #sdg3 #Sdg4 #Periodpoverty #Mensturalhygiene
