Chief Behavioral Health Officer, City of Boston; Triple Board-Certified Psychiatrist, Boston Children's Hospital; Assistant Professor of Psychiatry, Harvard Medical School

We had the privilege of attending the Eastern Massachusetts Peer Exchange at UMass Boston, hosted by the City of Boston Office of Community Safety (Isaac Yablo & Dan Hudson). The gathering showcased the incredible collaboration between City, Massachusetts Executive Office of Health and Human Services, and community partners to address the impacts of gun violence. A standout moment was Roy Martin’s presentation on the Boston Public Health Commission's Safe and Successful Youth Initiative (SSYI). Here, Donald Maurice O. and I get him in a photo. The event also highlighted the work of remarkable community partners, including, but not limited to YouthConnect (Kevan Anthony Barton, LICSW), Louis D. Brown Peace Institute, Violence Intervention Advocacy Program at Boston Medical Center (BMC), WE ARE BETTER TOGETHER WARREN DANIEL HAIRSTON PROJECT INC (Ruth Rollins), and contributions from colleagues at the Boston Police Department, and state AG Andrea Joy Campbell Office, and Department of Youth Services. Onward together 🙏🏽
