In times of big change, it can often feel like there’s nothing you can do to make a difference in the world. But today, you have the chance to make a difference for children and families like Rashida’s (pictured right with her niece, Keira). Your donation of any amount to BMC by December 31 will be doubled multiplying your impact: https://bit.ly/3Dl2lC2 When Keira’s mother unexpectedly passed away, her aunt Rashida and uncle Ken adopted her and her siblings, then ages 3, 7, and 9. Keira especially struggled with the loss of her mom, and Rashida knew she needed help. That was when she discovered the Services for Trauma and Resources for Families (STAR) Program at BMC. “BMC has been great in helping me as a parent navigate this. They have been working with us to learn what we’re comfortable with, allowing Keira to have some autonomy in her decisions, and ensuring that she feels listened to. For us, it’s been the highlight of our experience at BMC,” Rashida shares.

Making new friends for life 🐴💕 OSIs, such as PTSD, affect both the person who has them and their loved ones. Can Praxis's Breaking the Cycle Family Program is an opportunity for children (ages 8-24) of veterans with an OSI to gain the tools to understand and respond to their parent's injury. This breaks the cycle that trauma can cause and leads to a healthier future for the whole family. Our monthly donors play a huge part in offering hope and recovery at no cost to participants. Right now, Can Praxis is participating in Make it Monthly, an initiative run by our main donation platform CanadaHelps. Until the end of March, CanadaHelps will contribute an additional $20 to each new monthly gift Can Praxis receives of $20 or more! If you're ready to double your impact on the lives of Canadian veterans, get started here: https://loom.ly/TlQZAkM Please note that this initiative only applies to new monthly donors. Donors who're already making monthly donations or who've made monthly donations to Can Praxis in the past are not eligible. #canpraxis #canadahelps #makeitmonthly #equinetherapy #strongertogether

My Concussion Legacy Foundation (CLF) fundraiser is building momentum! Thanks to my friends and family who have donated so far. But we still have some time left! My family is supporting CLF for a few of reasons: First, we want youth sports to be safe for our kids. That’s something I would hope we all can get behind. Second, there are way too many ex-athletes of all ages who are suffering from symptoms of CTE. The free CLF HelpLine provides personalized support to those struggling with the outcomes of brain injury including concussions, post-concussion syndrome, and suspected CTE. Offering medical and educational resources, 1:1 peer support, and peer support groups, this interactive community provides patients and caregivers an inclusive, safe setting to recover together. So far, 6,000 families have benefitted from the CLF HelpLine, and with your help, we can grow this unique, vital, and FREE resource that changes lives. Finally, as we approach Memorial Day, we do this to support our veterans. We all know about some of the struggles that our veterans face after serving our country. What is new is the number of veterans that are discovered to have signs of CTE. Our military veterans and their families deserve to get resources they need to deal with the effects of brain trauma. CLF’s Project Enlist is designed to get those families the answers and the help they need. Please consider making a donation today at https://lnkd.in/eVRzhuUV.

Imagine what it's like growing up in a world where violence is a daily reality. For many people living in prison, the trauma of their childhood follows them into adulthood, haunting them even within the confines of prison walls. This is their reality—a cycle of pain and suffering that seems unbreakable. By sharing the perspectives of those with lived experience, we aim to shed light on the invisible struggles that many face daily. Understanding their pain is the first step towards creating meaningful change. Let's bring awareness to the long-lasting effects of childhood trauma and advocate for compassionate interventions. These are not just statistics; these are real people with real stories. Their voices matter, and together, we can help transform their pain into hope. Support our vision by making a small donation here donate.cpp1.org

Three charities that have changed lives, including my own. This holiday season, I want to highlight three charities that are incredibly meaningful to me. I also encourage everyone to consider giving back. I made a video sharing more, but here’s a quick overview: ▶️ Stoked Mentoring Inc. (STOKED) This organization combines mentorship and action sports to empower underserved youth. Their mission is inspiring, and their impact is undeniable. Please take a moment to check them out. ▶️ Shriners Children's (Hospitals for Children) This one is very personal for me. After a snowboarding accident as a child, Shriners covered my surgery and provided world-class care that allowed my right arm to develop fully. Their work truly changes lives, and I can wholeheartedly say they are worth supporting. ▶️LoveYourBrain Founded by Kevin Pearce after his traumatic brain injury on the world stage, this organization has built an amazing community for brain injury survivors. Their programs make a real difference for individuals and families. These charities have directly impacted lives, including my own. I encourage you to learn more about them. If you are looking for meaningful ways to give back this season, consider supporting one of these incredible causes. Let’s make the holidays brighter for those who need it most.
