This weekend, Team JZ will participate in the 7th annual Oakwood24 to continue raising awareness about the fentanyl epidemic and support the mission of Healing Transitions. After tragically losing their son, brother, and cousin Josh Zinner to fentanyl poisoning in 2023, Josh's family channeled their grief into action, creating Team JZ to honor his memory and help others in need. "When Josh passed away, it seemed like the most logical thing to me was to make people aware of fentanyl. Even though Healing Transitions is not focused on fentanyl awareness, it was easy to transition into discussing and being transparent about it with our friends and family."- Laurie Meares, Josh's aunt. Team JZ raised over $15,000 in their first year at Oakwood24, and they’re back this year to keep spreading awareness and breaking the stigma around addiction.
