What are you doing that’s distracting from you having #ExecutivePresence, and being effective in your role? I was talking to a friend yesterday over lunch. They had started a new role, and I was asking them about how they wanted to be perceived as a leader in their new organisation. I started by asking, who are the leaders you admire, and what is it about them you specifically like? They told me about a couple of people, and what it was about them they admired. One person was because they were always able to ‘cut through’ and get to the heart of the issue, or problem. The other person was because they played a long game with the work they were implementing, and that sometimes it wasn’t apparent about why they were taking some actions versus others, but it became clear over time. I then asked my friend if this how they would like to be perceived? They said yes. But earlier they mentioned how they had been criticising people in the role before them, to other leaders in the business. Blaming the person for what was going wrong. So I asked, was doing this, congruent with how they wanted to be perceived? Criticising and blaming rather than working how to move forward. Of course, the answer was no. In the Xplore for Success FREE in-person workshop on Executive Presence and Sponsorship, Amanda Webb and I will help you: 🟡 Understanding what executive presence is, and why it's important 🟡 Help you think about how you currently project executive presence, and 🟡 Help you picture and bring to life your executive presence It's in #Singapore on Friday 8 November from 9.30am to 12.30pm. 🤷🏻♂️ Is your expertise recognized beyond your company’s walls? You’ve built years of expertise in your field, but ask yourself this: Is that expertise known outside your company? Too often, high-level leaders assume their work speaks for itself. But in today’s fast-paced, competitive world, that’s rarely enough. Without external recognition of your expertise, Here’s what happens: 🙌🏻 You miss out on invitations to speak at industry events. 🙌🏻 You lose partnership opportunities or collaborations. 🙌🏻 You get overlooked for key opportunities that could drive your company and career forward. 🗣️ Expertise doesn’t speak for itself. If you’re not visible, the value you bring remains hidden. Visibility is the key to ensuring your expertise gets the recognition it deserves. So, if you’re not actively building your visibility, ❓Ask yourself: Who’s seeing the value of your expertise? #LeadershipVisibility #IndustryExpertise #BusinessGrowth #ThoughtLeadership

One foolproof path for you to reach the CXO level. While hard work is essential, it's not the only ingredient for reaching the CXO level. You need to prove your potential, no doubt. But sometimes, hard work alone takes a backseat. So, the real question is, "How can you ensure your position to become the next CXO?" One foolproof strategy is having a senior leader in the organization who actively advocates for you - Someone who promotes your name in critical meetings to which you don’t have access. Of course, that’s easier said than done. Securing such a sponsor is crucial, but how can you find someone willing to vouch for you? "How do you attract the right sponsor?" ☑️ Identify potential sponsors: Look for the senior leaders who recognize your skills and have influence within the organization. ☑️ Build Relationships: Deliver exceptional work on projects they’re involved in, be visible, and align your efforts with their goals. ☑️ Communicate Your Value: Make sure they understand your unique strengths, achievements, and career aspirations. Remember, It’s not about directly pitching yourself for a leadership role; Work in a way that compels them to advocate for you naturally. With the right person supporting you, You’ll gain access to opportunities and rooms where key decisions are made. Do you have such people in your organization? #RoadmapToCXO #ExecutivePresence #LeadershipDevelopment
