I love being part of events that elevate women. I'll be moderating a panel at the Femme Forward: Women Inspiring Women in Mentorship & Career Development event later this month! 🎉 This initiative, led by Anna Hsu, CIA, CFE, brings together women from Dallas-area companies (Toyota, AWS, PepsiCo, Ericsson) to elevate and support each other. The roots of this event trace back to 2018 when Toyota's women's employee resource group (WIIT) created an external ERG pillar. Their goal? To help team members build new networks in DFW after the company's headquarters moved to Plano. They recognized that women were disproportionately impacted by the move, often leaving behind crucial support structures. What started as a way to address immediate needs has blossomed into a powerful forum for women to: -Share success stories and best practices 🏆 -Build connections across companies 🤝 -Engage in authentic, inspiring dialogue 🗣️ It's wonderful to see how this grassroots effort has evolved, bringing together women from various organizations to tackle important issues like: -Overcoming hurdles in the workforce -Attracting and retaining top female talent -Developing strong female leaders 💪This event exemplifies the power of women elevating women. While this particular event is already full, I encourage you to seek out or create similar opportunities. The impact of such initiatives is immeasurable. Many thanks to Anna, Cynthia Zhu and Nazia Ahmed for your valuable work! #WomenEmpoweringWomen #CareerDevelopment #Mentorship #ProfessionalGrowth

Celebrating International Women’s Week Join us as we celebrate the remarkable women leaders in our company. Today, we're privileged to highlight Carrie Johnson, GSM at America's AA Kansas City. Discover her secrets to fostering a strong and supportive team culture. “To build a supportive team, you must be able to listen. Listen to what your team is saying, how they react with customers, how they interact with each other and listen to their frustrations. By nature, people want to be heard. Simply listening without immediate reaction can be incredibly effective. Encourage mutual listening among team members, allowing them to share feedback and insights. Avoid fitting everyone into the same mold; acknowledge and nurture individual strengths. Be honest and offer genuine feedback instead of what’s simply desired. Embrace mistakes as learning opportunities, guiding them rather than criticizing. Trust your team to perform their roles and offer praise for their contributions. Lead by example in your interactions, fostering a culture of respect and support not only within your team but throughout the organization.” Stay tuned for more inspiring stories about our women leaders throughout the week! #AmericasAA #AmericasGroup #InternationalWomensWeek #WomenLeaders

On this International Women's Day, I'm inspired to share a story close to my heart—a story of transformation, empowerment, and unity within the CPG industry. Meet my client, a talented CPG professional with a knack for innovation and an eye for market trends. Her journey wasn't straightforward. As a woman in a highly competitive and traditionally male-dominated industry, she faced numerous challenges: from being overlooked for promotions to having her ideas dismissed in important meetings. Despite these setbacks, she remained resilient. She recognized the power of collaboration and the strength found in lifting each other up. She took a bold step forward and founded a mentorship program within her company aimed at supporting and empowering women. This initiative wasn't just about career advancement; it was about creating a culture where women's voices were heard, valued, and celebrated. The impact was profound. The program grew, creating a network of women across different departments and levels, all united in their desire to support one another. Success stories began to emerge—women securing leadership roles, launching successful products, and driving innovation within their teams. This transformation within my client's company is a microcosm of what's possible across the entire CPG industry. It's a reminder that when we support each other, we not only overcome challenges but also pave the way for a more inclusive, equitable, and vibrant industry. On this International Women's Day, let's commit to empowering the women around us. Whether through mentorship, advocacy, or simply lending an ear, every action counts. Together, we can build a CPG industry where women thrive, lead, and inspire the next generation of female leaders. To all the women in CPG and beyond, your courage, creativity, and determination make the world a better place. Let's continue to break barriers and build bridges. Last week we hosted a panel in our European headquarters in London of female leaders in honor of International Women’s Day. With a 60%+ female-identified workforce, Lumanity values the skills and insight that our highly qualified and dynamic women contribute. But is valuing diverse perspectives and recognizing the unique challenges women face in their careers and lives enough if women don’t feel empowered or supported? Jane Shirley, Chief Administrative Officer and EVP, Operational Excellence, moderated our panel, featuring Clare Whatling, Finance Director, Claire Scull, Vice President, Global Commercial Operations & Enablement, Yuliya Fontanetti, Quality Assurance and Compliance, and Wendy Macdonald, Global Senior HR Director. These powerful and talented women shared stories and perspectives of why communication is key, being direct is vital, and why sharing the real you should be the only option. “There is a misconception that you have to be balanced and that you can only be successful when you're managing to be 100% in every part of your life. I think for us as a business, one of the things we need to do to be more supportive of women is give the space to not have to be perfect all the time. Sometimes it's just OK to get it done.” Lumanity has many initiatives that support our female employees, but it’s conversations like these where the change begins. Join us in celebrating all women this International Women’s Day. #InternationalWomensDay #IWD2024 #FemaleLeaders #WomeninLeadership #WomenLeaders

🌟 Celebrating the Power of Women Supporting Women! 🌟 Networking isn’t just about exchanging business cards - it’s about building meaningful connections that inspire growth, innovation, and empowerment. Today, I want to celebrate the incredible network of women who continuously uplift and support one another. 💪💼 I've been fortunate to witness firsthand the transformative power of women supporting women. This picture includes 2 of the many incredible women (and men!) I have met through WeAreTheCity - Akua, Lauren and I were Rising Star winners in 2022. Since then we have formed a little support crew for one another with a bunch of other amazing Rising Stars ⭐ Here are a few things I’ve learned from this incredible network: 👉 Mentorship Matters: Having a mentor who believes in you can be a game-changer. Let’s strive to be mentors who guide, challenge, and support the next generation of leaders. 👉 Collaboration Over Competition: When women come together, magic happens. Collaboration fosters innovation and creates opportunities for everyone to shine. Let’s break the barriers of competition and embrace a culture of collaboration. 👏 👉 Celebrate Each Other’s Wins: Every achievement, big or small, deserves to be celebrated. Acknowledging and celebrating each other’s successes not only boosts morale but also motivates us to reach greater heights. 👉 Create Safe Spaces: Let’s continue to create environments where women feel safe, heard, and valued. A supportive network can provide the confidence needed to overcome challenges and seize opportunities. 👉 Lift as You Rise: As we rise in our careers, let’s remember to lift others along the way. Empowering others not only strengthens our network but also builds a more inclusive and diverse landscape. To all the phenomenal women in my network, thank you for your unwavering support, wisdom, and inspiration. Together, we are unstoppable. Let’s continue to support, uplift, and empower each other to reach new horizons. 🚀✨ How has a supportive network impacted your career? Share your stories and let’s celebrate the power of women supporting women! 💬👇 ****************** PS: I host a podcast called Virago Voices, which is all about spotlighting inspirational women and telling their stories to empower other women, check it out on any major podcasting platform of your choice! 🎧 #WomenSupportingWomen #Networking #Empowerment #Mentorship #Collaboration #Podcast #Leadership #LiftAsYourRise
