Are your customers effectively and actively using your tool, or are they just paying for it without using it? According to Sampath S the Co-founder SaaS Mantra, offering annual discounts on products led many customers to buy solely because of the discount, rather than out of necessity. This resulted in a significant number of users not utilizing the product and eventually growing to dislike it. To better serve their customers, Sampath S. discussed on the ProductMarketFit.io podcast with Nick Tomic that they have shifted to offering lifetime deals. This approach allowed customers to buy a product and use it at their convenience, whenever they were ready. Interestingly, their data shows that out of 100 purchasers, about 50 never use the product, 25 use it occasionally, and the remaining 25 incorporate it into their daily business workflow.
