New Joinee induction practices suitable for small and nimble organizations. I have been experimenting on the better ways to induct a new joinees in our organization. Sharing some practices which have yielded good results in our small and nimble organization. Day one experience is key to a new employee whether he is a fresher from college or a lateral hire at a senior position. In our organization, after the brief induction formalities are done by HR, a Sr Management member greets the new joinee and walks through the organization level business domains and the importance of the specific project the new joinee is allocated. This short meeting is following by a lunch with the new joinee. The meeting by a Sr person automatically provides the right importance to the new joinee and adds an element of a human touch that can make one feel secure and inspired. On day one, not only the project is allocated but a mentor/buddy is allocated to support the new joinee and help navigate through the project and its vagaries. It is often said that any one getting into a new organization or a new role within the same organization has 90 days to settle down and prove his credibility. These 90 days are key and this is where goal setting using OKR or similar mechanism comes in. Having the end in mind always helps set the right direction. I have found that setting the goals (even if for a short period of 2-3 months) within the first week itself sets not only the right direction but also gives the necessary impetus to progress with good momentum. The mentor/mentee can support the new joinee to understand the goals well and spend at least two 30-minute sessions every week. This semi-formal conversation can help the new joinee, especially align seamlessly with the team and its culture. Finally, being a smaller organization the same Sr person who met the new joinee on day one has a brief conversation on a weekly basis with him (For about 1-2 months) to make sure things are flowing in the right way. Though the above simple yet powerful practices are often known to most people, they are not implemented with energy and passions. Finally, execution makes all the difference. One size does not fit all. Each organization needs to make its own adaptations to the process of successfully inducting new joinees based on its culture and performance orientation. #induction #Practices #HR #NewJoinees #Mentor

Mentorship has been incredibly important in my career as an Executive Assistant. Having a mentor provides valuable insights, guidance, and feedback that help navigate the complexities of the role. I vividly remember a conversation with my mentor about how to adapt to industry changes as an EA. Their experiences and practical advice on managing tasks, improving efficiency, and handling challenges have been invaluable. This mentorship support has not only boosted my confidence but also enhanced my skills and promoted my professional growth. Additionally, my mentor's network has opened doors to new opportunities and resources that I wouldn't have accessed otherwise. Overall, having a mentor has empowered me to excel and succeed in my career. #Mentorship #CareerGrowth #ExecutiveAssistant #ProfessionalDevelopment #Networking #CareerSuccess

A small investment in employee development can significantly benefit the employee and the company. #careerdevelopment 1. Leverage internal resources: Encourage knowledge sharing through brown bag lunches, workshops, or mentorship programs. 2. Utilize free or low-cost online resources 3.
