Resilience has become a buzzword in organizations, and as I explore various roles, it is often highlighted as a critical skill, trait, or mindset. But are we truly resilient? To what extent? And how do we demonstrate it to a hiring manager? A recent webinar by Dr. Suzanne Ross helped shift my perspective on resilience, framing it not just as a trait but as a process. This approach offers a more nuanced view of how we can develop and strengthen our own resilience. Two key insights stood out to me: 1. Resilience is a personal resource for growth and self-improvement, not merely about survival or bouncing back. 2. Viewing resilience as a process allows us to better reflect on the strategies and resources we can use to respond resiliently. It's too simplistic to think of resilience solely as a trait. We need a more systemic approach, considering how organizational systems support the development and sustainability of resilience. How do you see resilience evolving in your own life or workplace? I'd love to hear your thoughts!
