As a woman owned business since 1999, we are excited to celebrate Women's History Month! Each March since 1995, by presidential proclamation, we’ve highlighted the often unsung contributions of women over the course of U.S. history during Women’s History Month. This annual commemoration is marked with events and programs in schools, libraries, community centers, and workplaces nationwide. The National Women’s History Alliance theme for Women’s History Month 2024 is “Women Who Advocate for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion”—a theme that’s a perfect fit for today’s workplaces celebrating women’s contributions. “Women from every background have long realized that an uneven playing field will never bring equality or justice. Many feel the critical need to speak up and work harder for fairness in our institutions and social interactions. During 2024, we recognize the example of women who are committed to embracing everyone and excluding no one in our common quest for freedom and opportunity.” Check out some ways to highlight DEI in your workplace, and women’s contributions to it, in our article below. In the comments below, please share how you are honoring Women's history month and why this month is important to you. #womeninbusiness #womenempowerment #diversityandinclusion #equality #seatatthetable https://lnkd.in/gbyiKGRh

Join us in celebrating the significant contributions of women to our industry for Women’s History Month in March. This monthlong celebration of women’s contributions to history, culture, and society has been observed annually in the United States since 1987, but began as a local grassroots celebration in California in 1978 as Women's History Week. In 1980, several woman’s groups and historians led by the National Woman’s History Project (now known as the National Women’s History Alliance) successfully lobbied for national recognition, and the same year the first federal proclamation was issued declaring the week of March 8, 1980 as Woman’s History Week. In 1987, another proclamation was passed declaring March Women's History Month. This year's theme is "Women Who Advocate for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion," recognizing women who understand the need to eliminate bias and discrimination from individuals' lives and institutions. [MARCH IS WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH] The National Women’s History Month’s theme for 2024 celebrates “Women Who Advocate for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.” Women from every background have long realized that an uneven playing field will never bring equality or justice. During 2024, we recognize the example of women who are committed to embracing everyone and excluding no one in our common quest for freedom and opportunity. They know that people change with the help of families, teachers, and friends and that young people in particular need to learn the value of hearing from different voices with different points of view as they grow up. It takes courage for women to advocate for practical goals like equity, diversity, and inclusion. Throughout 2024, we honor local women from the past and present who have taken the lead to show the importance of change and to establish firmer safeguards, practices, and legislation reflecting these values. This month I honor all the women from diverse backgrounds in in my world who are making a significant difference in our community. Who are the women in your world that you will honor?

Women’s History Month is a celebration of women’s contributions to history, culture, and society. It has been observed. It has been observed annually in March in the U.S. since 1987. The theme for National Women’s History Month is “Women Who Advocate for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.” The theme recognizes women throughout the country who understand that, for a positive future, we need to eliminate bias and discrimination entirely from our lives and institutions. As a NYS certified, woman-owned business and DOT-certified disadvantaged business entity, let us unite in celebrating and honoring the unwavering contributions of women in our company and throughout American History. This is also the perfect opportunity for Integrated Staffing to highlight our #DEI journey. Women’s History Month reminds us that gender bias still exists, women remain underrepresented in nearly all arenas of power and influence, and women’s rights are human rights that need to be constantly fought for at home and around the world. We invite you to reflect on the resilience and unique traits that define the individuality of women. By embracing and celebrating diversity, we can continue to foster a work environment where both our staff and the communities we serve are seen, heard, and appreciated. #womenshistorymonth #celebration #recognition #wearestrongertogether #integratedstaffing

Celebrating Women's History Month brings both pride and reflection, particularly as we look at the incredible community of female leaders at Smith Publicity, Inc. Their guidance has been crucial as I navigated the shifting sands of the publishing industry, which has seen a remarkable increase in female representation over the last 15 years. Gone are the days when publishing was a field dominated by white men. Today, women are not just participants; they lead, driving the industry forward with unparalleled vision and resilience. Despite these advances, the journey towards full diversity and inclusion, especially in racial representation, continues. Yet, the influence of women in reshaping the publishing landscape is undeniable and inspiring. Smith Publicity exemplifies this industry transformation, cherishing the contributions of women at all career stages and championing work-life balance. This core principle has empowered my own growth, ensuring my voice is heard and valued, and providing a supportive backdrop for professional and personal development. In 2023, the impact of women in publishing has been unmistakable, with women authors dominating the bestseller lists—a testament to their significant role in literary culture. As we honor Women's History Month, let's acknowledge the progress made and the way forward toward a more inclusive industry. The achievements of women in publishing, authorship, and publicity illuminate the path for broader movements toward equality and empowerment. Let's continue to support and uplift women in their varied roles, working towards a future where equality is not just an aspiration but a reality. Cheers to the trailblazers, the current leaders, and the many more to follow, shaping a future filled with promise. Speaking of impactful women in publishing, I want to shout out the amazing women leaders at Wiley, including Shannon Vargo, Jeanenne Ray, and Amy Fandrei, to name a few. Sandra Poirier Smith, Janet Shapiro, and I were fortunate enough to visit with them and many other members of the Wiley team in-person last week as you can see from the picture below. It’s so inspiring to witness these extraordinary women leading the way of a major presence in the book industry. #WomensHistoryMonth #WomenInBusiness #Leadership #Motherhood

Happy Women’s History Month! This year, the theme for Women’s History Month is “Women Who Advocate for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.” As we celebrate Women’s History Month, we must acknowledge women's impact on this world for the better. Women have played critical roles in every field of human advancement and, unfortunately, are not recognized for their contributions. His story cannot exist without her perspective. As we celebrate all these accomplishments and extraordinary women, we must recognize the current challenges women face today. From the battle of a woman's right to choose to the gender pay gap. Paying women 84 cents for every dollar paid to a man and suppressing women's rights over their bodies is wrong and cannot continue to be the standard. Restrictive policies have no place in private matters such as that. All these issues must be resolved as a society if we genuinely want to live up to the promise of the United States as the land of opportunity for all. Happy Women’s History Month! Read about it, educate yourself, and most importantly, listen.
