Happy Women’s History Month! This year, the theme for Women’s History Month is “Women Who Advocate for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.” As we celebrate Women’s History Month, we must acknowledge women's impact on this world for the better. Women have played critical roles in every field of human advancement and, unfortunately, are not recognized for their contributions. His story cannot exist without her perspective. As we celebrate all these accomplishments and extraordinary women, we must recognize the current challenges women face today. From the battle of a woman's right to choose to the gender pay gap. Paying women 84 cents for every dollar paid to a man and suppressing women's rights over their bodies is wrong and cannot continue to be the standard. Restrictive policies have no place in private matters such as that. All these issues must be resolved as a society if we genuinely want to live up to the promise of the United States as the land of opportunity for all. Happy Women’s History Month! Read about it, educate yourself, and most importantly, listen.

Women's History Month originated from a grassroots movement in Sonoma County, California to honor women's contributions to history, culture, and society. It provides a platform to recognize trailblazing women who have shattered barriers and paved the way for future generations. Despite significant strides, women continue to face systemic barriers in various aspects of life, including the workplace, healthcare, and education. Gender pay gaps, lack of representation in leadership roles, and gender-based discrimination persist as pressing challenges that demand attention and action. This year's theme celebrates “Women Who Advocate for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion”, recognizing women who understand that, for a positive future, we need to eliminate bias and discrimination from our lives and institutions. [MARCH IS WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH] The National Women’s History Month’s theme for 2024 celebrates “Women Who Advocate for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.” Women from every background have long realized that an uneven playing field will never bring equality or justice. During 2024, we recognize the example of women who are committed to embracing everyone and excluding no one in our common quest for freedom and opportunity. They know that people change with the help of families, teachers, and friends and that young people in particular need to learn the value of hearing from different voices with different points of view as they grow up. It takes courage for women to advocate for practical goals like equity, diversity, and inclusion. Throughout 2024, we honor local women from the past and present who have taken the lead to show the importance of change and to establish firmer safeguards, practices, and legislation reflecting these values. This month I honor all the women from diverse backgrounds in in my world who are making a significant difference in our community. Who are the women in your world that you will honor?

Every March, we celebrate the achievements and history of women as part of Women’s History Month, and today is International Women's Day! Each year the National Women’s History Alliance chooses a theme for Women’s History Month. The theme for 2024 is "Women Who Advocate for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.” "It takes courage for women to advocate for practical goals like equity, diversity and inclusion when established forces aim to misinterpret, exploit or discredit them. Throughout 2024, we honor local women from the past and present who have taken the lead to show the importance of change and to establish firmer safeguards, practices and legislation reflecting these values. Following decades of discrimination, we are proud to celebrate women who work for basic inclusion, equality and fairness." -National Women's History Alliance Women's History Month & International Women's Day is a great opportunity to explore women's contributions throughout history. A few ways you can further celebrate and advocate for women is to support women-owned businesses and organizations, support initiatives that encourage girls and women to pursue education, get involved & volunteer for women's organizations, and actively listen to and amplify the voices of women. #womenshistorymonth #internationalwomensday
