Transforming your house, and with it your life, takes a team. It was a delight to be the architect on Libby and Chris's team as they renovated to sell. I introduced them to the builder early on (see below!) and worked tightly with both client and builder to nail the cost parameters and client goals. A common frustration with non-architectural designers (draftspeople, building designers) is that they often do exactly what you tell them. That doesn't sound so bad, until you realise that what you really need is expertise and direction. >>You realise you need an experienced professional who can walk the line between taking your lead and leading you forward. >>You need someone who can interpret what you *really* want and actually get it happening. >>You need someone who can translate what you want into the world of design and construction. >>You need someone to help you understand the implications of your decisions so you don't make unintended errors. On the eve of our first open house I'm feeling grateful for the incredible team that made it all possible. Vicky, Ben Campbell, Paddy and the team at Building Evolution were amazing and delivered. Sarah Hobday-North totally got the changes that were important to us. Krystal Johnson, Jamie and the team at Property Stylists of Melbourne were all so gorgeous and we love how they went the extra mile commissioning some great artwork for our space directly from the artist Leah Justyce Art gallery. We've used Amanda Sutej from Capital Property Conveyancing for a few purchases but now she's done a great job getting us on track for a sale. Last but not least, we're incredibly happy to now be in the hands of Luke Sacco and Niki Castro from Nelson Alexander Real Estate who we've known for what feels like forever! Ours is not a typical warehouse conversion nor a normal family home. It's an incredible space we've adored for 22+years raising our family and seeing them move out and on with their own lives.
