Enjoyed a rare but powerful doubleheader in the world of channels, partnerships, and ecosystems today in Florida. Started the day on the left coast (Naples) speaking at the Lenovo Business Partner Executive Summit 2024. Hundreds of the largest channel partners in the world were discussing opportunities around the AI Edge - the upcoming PC super cycle fueled by new compute architecture, Windows 10 end of life, and a pandemic refresh. Finished the day on the east coast (Boca Raton) speaking at Ultimate Partner about co-selling, co-innovation, digital marketplaces, and the new platform economy that is driven by partnering. While we are blessed to work in an industry led by the most valuable companies in the world, there is one commonality from both of these events: The partners in the room are growing (services) faster that any of the hardware or software vendors than they support. All boats rise.

🤝 Don't worry! You can leave the process of selling your old tech and devices to us! 1️⃣ Many of our customers and partners don't have a process for selling their old tech when they upgrade. It's no surprise-you're BUSY, and we understand. 2️⃣ You might think large businesses and schools with thousands of students would be prepared to offload tech. This is not the case, which is why we're here to let you know to use our process. 3️⃣ You don't need to dedicate time or resources to creating a process, we've got you covered. We can curate a process for your organization or school that works for you. This will allow you to offload devices with ease and ensure maximum value from all devices to go right back where you want it. To YOU! 📣 Need help getting started? Start here: https://zurl.co/D8Uc

The Constitutional Convention of 1787 & what would Washington do? (Yes, Really!) I’ve been reading Hamilton by Ron Chernow, and when I got to the part about the Constitutional Convention, my AV mind kicked into gear. I couldn’t help but think, “Who was in charge of the AV setup for this event?” I know, it sounds absurd—there wasn’t any AV tech in the 1700s—but as someone in the AV industry, that’s where my mind automatically goes when I hear the word "conference." I started imagining: What if George Washington had a wireless mic, and Alexander Hamilton had PowerPoint to go with his marathon speeches? Would Benjamin Franklin have struggled with a projector? Thomas Jefferson would’ve definitely requested the perfect lighting for his big moments. And of course, someone would've had an issue with the acoustics in Independence Hall—every event has that one person! It’s funny, but once you’re in the AV world, you see its importance in every meeting or conference, past and present. At its core, AV is all about facilitating communication, whether you're working with LED walls today or imagining how the Founding Fathers might’ve delivered their ideas more efficiently with some modern tech. How do you think the convention would take place today?? #AVTech #EventProduction #Hamilton #ConstitutionalConvention #EventPlanning

Although virtual and hybrid hearings enhance the accessibility of justice, certain obstacles must be addressed to maintain their effectiveness and inclusivity. This publication from the National Center for State Courts (NCSC) outlines specific instances of updates to courthouses and other venues to accommodate hybrid hearings. In slides 5-6, the NCSC details the implementation of For The Record technology at Mohave County Superior Court in Kingman, Arizona. The slides document the technology's ability to improve hybrid hearings by seamlessly managing both in-person and digital components. This includes the capturing and monitoring of audio and video recordings for comprehensive and accessible court records.

Just in time for Halloween—a blast from tech’s past is back from the dead! 🖥️💀 A 1986 Macintosh Plus has been resurrected, thanks to developer Hunter Irving’s tech wizardry! With the help of a Raspberry Pi Pico W and BlueSCSI, Hunter managed to get this vintage Mac online (although, spoiler alert: it’s not exactly winning any speed races...). Irving used the Raspberry Pi Pico W to emulate an old Ethernet adapter, tricking the Mac Plus into thinking it was using original hardware. Paired with a tool called BlueSCSI, this setup provided the vintage Mac with a connection to the internet—at a speed of around 60 KB per second. While it’s exciting to see a piece of tech history come back to life, this isn’t a call to cling to outdated machines. Instead, it's a reminder of just how far technology has come. This classic Mac may be fun for experimentation, but up-to-date technology is essential for today's businesses. Today’s systems are not only faster and more secure, but they’re also designed to handle the demands of a competitive, connected world. Is any of your old tech ready to be laid to rest? 👻 My team and I can help bring in modern, efficient solutions. Reach out and let’s future-proof your tech!

<<You’ll hear [CEO] Hanneke talk about a concept called the “forever mouse,” or a mouse you buy once and upgrade over time with new software features — features that, of course, might carry a subscription fee.>> 1. Mice already pretty much last forever. 2. Mice report position changes and button presses. I can’t think of what new features a mouse might ever need. Even if there are any, they could be implemented on the computer end; they don’t need to be implemented in the mouse. 3. A subscription price for a mouse?! Hard pass.
