"Beyond the daily grind, I believe in embracing every aspect of life's journey. Recently, I ventured into the culinary world by trying my hand at making Hakka noodles for the first time in Canada. It was a delightful experience, reminding me of the joy in trying something and creating moments of discovery outside of work. Here's to exploring new horizons, both professionally and in the kitchen! 🍜✨ #Hakkanoodles #LifeBeyondWork #CulinaryAdventures"

Happy Friday Everyone! Today, I’d like to highlight the significance of yerba mate in Argentinian work culture. Yerba mate, a traditional South American herbal tea, holds a special place in the hearts of Argentinians. It’s not just a beverage; it’s a symbol of hospitality, camaraderie, and connection. 🧉🤝 When Argentinians share mate, they’re not just passing around a cup of tea; they’re building bonds. Whether it’s with family, friends, or coworkers, mate circles encourage conversation, laughter, and collaboration. These moments of connection foster teamwork and boost productivity. 📈 Many companies in Argentina recognize the power of mate breaks. These breaks are more than just a chance to recharge; they’re an opportunity to connect on a personal level. Colleagues gather in common areas, passing around the mate gourd (a hollowed-out container) and sipping through a metal straw (a bombilla). Beyond the office, mate plays a role in networking. Business meetings, conferences, and even negotiations often involve sharing mate. Offering someone mate is a gesture of openness and trust. What beverage or food in your country serves as a tool for connecting with others? 🌎 Share your thoughts and experiences in the comments below. 👇 #DiversityandInclusion #CrossCulturalCommunication #CulturalAwareness

Midweek lunches are the perfect pause to reconnect and rejuvenate, especially when shared with an incredible team. Today, we gathered for ,a well-deserved break, savoring one of Malaysia’s most beloved dishes: Nasi Lemak. Each fragrant bite, from the coconut rice (reminiscing my childhood experience) to the spicy sambal, was a reminder of the richness of our shared experiences and the warmth that comes from working together. Conversations flowed as freely as the delicious flavors, turning the meal into more than just lunch—it became a time of connection and gratitude. We shared stories, laughter, and reflections that strengthened the bonds we rely on every day. These moments remind us that appreciation isn’t just shown through words or results but through simple, shared moments over a plate of our national treasure. Here’s to many more meals, great company, and continued success as a team. Cheers to the little things that bring us together! PS: Its very important to have an “attitude of gratitude.”

A few weeks ago, I hinted at my wild ride called My Big Fat Greek Adventure, and guess what? Today I'm taking you along, with a video so fun you'll feel you're right there with me. And hey, before you grip your seats, let me assure you. We're not speeding across Greece. Nope, we're cruising at the speed of "wow, isn't this fantastic! We had some great times on this trip. We found the elevator parking fascinating. It was a style of parking garage. You show up, they pull the car into the elevator, and it takes the car up to the parking garage. And then there was the comedy show at the local café – aka my 'diet coffee' saga. Picture this: I ask for a skinny cappuccino. The barista bellows my order across the room. A great reminder that sometimes, you must dance with the locals. Even if it means being the punchline of a coffee joke. 😂🙈 We work hard and we deserve to play harder. For me, it was always about teaching my child that any dream lifestyle is within reach. But, you'll only get it if you're willing to roll up your sleeves. What country or place is on your bucket list and what would you need to do to achieve it? share in the comments below #GreekAdventure 🇬🇷 #TasteOfGreece #AncientWonders #CulinaryJourney #LaughingThroughTravel #CobblestoneDiaries #MythicalMoments #LocalDelights #GastronomicTales #CulturalMixups #TravelLaughs #EpicEats #ZeusPhotobomb #SkinnyCappuccinoSaga #OpaLife #GreeceTravelDiaries #SavorTheJourney #TravelTales #FoodieFinds #jwatsonhomeselementary #watsonhomes #chicmoves

I’ve often found myself in the position of not knowing what I want to do with my life. I was never that child that dreamed of being an actor, firefighter or a zookeeper. I've explored so many avenues and had a go at a lot of things, from floristry courses to self teaching baking and cake decorating. Working within the care sector, in schools and excelling in sales and hospitality.🫠 Each experience has been valuable, but I’ve learned something crucial about myself: I thrive on challenge and new experiences. Once I've conquered something I get itchy feet and feel the need for something more. While some may see this as a lack of focus, I choose to view it as a journey of discovery. Each new challenge teaches me something different, broadening my skill set and perspective. I believe that not having a fixed destination can lead to unexpected opportunities and growth. If you’re like me—someone who craves change and adventure—know that you’re not alone. Embrace your curiosity, keep exploring, and trust that the right path will reveal itself in time. Here’s to the adventures ahead! 🚀 📸 Game face on and ready for the next chance to shine. #CareerJourney #GrowthMindset #EmbraceChange

📌 Happy National Nougat Day! Why am I celebrating this day? Well, because it’s such a rich part of my culture. But, also…wait for it… Nougat is typically made by mixing egg whites together and adding honey or sugar, roasted nuts, and sometimes candied fruit. In Italy, they call it torrone. In Spain, a nougat is called turrón. Now, I’ll shamelessly HR tie it all together: Culture is critical, created and modeled by leadership! The buck stops there. Here is the recipe: 🥣 Mix everyone together (focus on making meaningful connections and create opportunities for that to happen – yes, get up and walk and talk to those in your charge, as a priority). 🍯 Add honey AND sugar (focus on taking care of each other; empathy and kindness goes a long way; just do right by your employees whatever that looks like). 🍉 Throw in some nuts and fruits for good measure (focus on supporting and developing your teams; ensure everyone feels heard and given opportunities at all levels). So…aim to be proud of the recipe you have created, the nougat that represents you, and reap what you sow in loyal followers! #NationalNougatDay #CultureEatsStrategy #You’reIt!

A Sweet Illustration of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging Each year, people in Turkey commemorate Prophet Noah by recreating the meal he made with the last remaining ingredients on his ark, sharing it with their neighbors, loved ones, and sometimes even strangers, during a period of gratitude. Whenever I visit my family, even if it is not the season, my mother cooks Aşure because she knows how much I love it. This year, I was fortunate to be in Turkey during Aşure time. I loved trying different versions from our neighbors and others in the community. Aşure is a dessert that combines chickpeas, dried apricots, beans, figs, wheat, raisins, salt, and sugar and many more ingredients. While cooking Aşure, I reflected on how we often discuss inclusion, equaity, and diversity belonging. Isn't Aşure the perfect metaphor for this? Ingredients that normally wouldn’t be considered together, or would seem strange to think of fitting together in a meal, come together in harmony without losing their unique identities, creating a magnificent dessert. Working in an environment that accepts each person as they are and values their uniqueness makes them even more productive. A leader who knows each team member well and utilizes their unique qualities where the team needs them most, and appreciates them as a whole, achieves perfect balance and extraordinary results. What do you think? 🌟 #DEIB #Diversity #Inclusion #Aşure #Leadership #Teamwork

35,000 feet in the air. The pre-landing snack, a cheese on bread sandwich, the only option, was a stark reminder of the disconnect between the anticipation of reconnecting with my roots, the warm embrace of family and indulging in the rich, flavorful cuisine that makes our stomachs do a happy dance. Sadly, this brought back memories of the excitement I felt on a flight to South Korea where I got my first taste of a delicious bibimbap, a dish I had only seen in K-dramas. The buzz around Air Peace isn't just hot air. It speaks to a broader narrative that transcends mere aviation; it's about cultural representation through hospitality and the stories of the people behind the spread on the tray table. Traveling back home is a journey that should start the moment you step onto the plane. Why wait until landing to dive into a juicy snack of piping hot fluffy masa and pepper sauce, suya wrapped in old newspapers and “stepping it down” with a chilled glass of African velvet tamarind (Icheku/Awin/Tsamiyar kurm) juice. I can only imagine the mind blowing delicacies where/when airlines collaborate with African food enthusiasts, including chefs, "chop bar and mama put” cooks, bakers, chocolatiers and recipe developers. Picture menus curated to not only cater to dietary restrictions but to celebrate the continent's culinary diversity. From steaming bowls of Palava sauce, Egusi soup to refreshing Ikoyi Club style Chapman, Zobo and Kunu aya cocktails crafted from African fruits. The possibilities are boundless. Sharing stories that celebrate cuisine is not just about feeding the body but also nourishing the soul, making every bite a testament to the destination's rich culture. Air Peace's disruption in the airspace is a clarion call to airlines: The word on the street is that goat meat pepper soup, zobo and kulikuli were served on their inaugural flight from Lagos to Gatwick airport! The time is ripe to transform the in-flight experience, turning every journey into a cultural immersion. #storytelling #culturediaries What is one dish you are looking forward to on your next direct flight ✈️ to Africa?
