As a Field Service Technician, I’ve learned that a large part of the job happens before I even arrive on-site. Preplanning is crucial—by analyzing the symptoms and drawing from my past experiences, I can anticipate all possible faults that could be causing the issue. This mental preparation allows me to approach each job methodically and with confidence, knowing I’m ready for any scenario. A key part of this preparation is keeping a well-stocked inventory of spare parts. Based on common faults I’ve encountered, I make sure to carry the parts that are most likely to be needed. This ensures I can get the job done efficiently and without unnecessary delays, reducing downtime for the client. Being proactive and prepared not only helps me deliver faster, more effective service, but it also gives me the confidence to tackle any issue that comes my way. It’s all about anticipating needs and staying one step ahead. #FieldService #Preplanning #TechPreparation #EfficientService #CustomerSatisfaction #ProblemSolving #ServiceExcellence #TechLife #Aidacare

My experience on being a field service technician so far: -One need to have high emotional intelligence because you deal with different people, with different emotions going through different things. I learn not to take things personally especially when you’re young, most people undermine you until you deliver. -Prepare a day before going on-site , so that you will know the equipment you’re going to work with, because clients see you as a specialist, often times they ask you lot of questions. Sometimes if you finish early they might request a few minutes training. -After visiting a client the following day don’t go on-site, finish all the paper work and report and send them on time. Clients will notice that you’re committed. -To those who want to be field service technicians, my advice is, you got to have passion for it because every day you learn new things, so you have to read manuals every chance you have. #Abb #Instrumentation #Field_service #engineering

GES is committed to providing you with quality equipment and dependable results. We’re thrilled to hear that our team was able to step in when it mattered most and get you back on track quickly. At GES, we’re here to support your success, day or night. "Team General, I want to take a moment to thank you for your help. Last night, we faced a challenge at a job site when the rental cone went down around 6 PM due to electrical issues—something beyond our immediate capabilities to fix. In moments like these, service can make or break our operations. We’ve always been able to rely on General’s lead technician for support, often at unconventional hours. While we couldn’t reach him initially last night, I contacted General's service manager, who answered immediately. Without hesitation, he coordinated with the lead technician, our foreman’s on-site, and together—with their team and ours—they resolved the issue. What stood out was their preparation. General's lead technician had already anticipated potential issues and ensured spare parts were available on-site, which allowed us to minimize downtime and get the machine running again. This level of service is why companies like General set themselves apart. While we have many options to choose from, your commitment to supporting us when it matters most is invaluable. Experiences like this highlight why exceptional service is always a key factor in our decision-making when renting and purchasing equipment. Thank you for your continued support!" #GES #CustomerTestimonial
