Working on the Water Techs. today, Direct Hire, Great Lakes States. If anyone wants to "nerd out" a bit, here is what our client is doing- they provide THIS service, pre-treat of water (not wastewater, water after manufacturing but new water coming in, steps 2-4): Water undergoes treatment and preparation to meet the specific quality and purity requirements needed for production. Here's an overview of the water process at the start: 1. Water Source The water typically comes from one of the following sources: Municipal supply. Groundwater (e.g., wells). Surface water (e.g., rivers or lakes). Each source determines the initial level of impurities (e.g., sediments, minerals, organic matter) that must be treated. 2. Pre-Treatment Steps A. Filtration (Primary Treatment) Coarse Filtration: Removes large debris like leaves or sand using mesh screens. Sedimentation: Allows heavy particles to settle out in a tank. Multi-media Filtration: Uses layers of sand, gravel, and activated carbon to remove smaller particles and organic contaminants. B. Coagulation and Flocculation Coagulation: Chemicals (like alum or ferric chloride) are added to destabilize particles in water. Flocculation: Gentle mixing forms larger clumps (flocs), which are easier to remove. C. Disinfection Chlorination or UV treatment is used to kill bacteria, viruses, and other pathogens. 3. Secondary Treatment Steps (Depending on Manufacturing Needs) A. Softening (Hardness Removal) Removes calcium and magnesium ions that cause scaling in equipment. B. Deionization (Ion Exchange) Ion exchange resins remove dissolved salts to produce deionized (DI) water for high-purity processes. C. Reverse Osmosis (RO) Membrane filtration removes dissolved salts, bacteria, and small organic molecules. This step is essential in industries like pharmaceuticals and semiconductors. D. Carbon Filtration Activated carbon removes chlorine, organic compounds, and odors to protect downstream processes. 4. Final Conditioning A. pH Adjustment pH is fine-tuned for specific manufacturing processes to prevent corrosion or ensure compatibility with chemicals. B. Specific Additives For cooling or boiler systems, anticorrosive agents or oxygen scavengers may be added. In specialized industries, such as electronics or food manufacturing, ultrapure water (UPW) may be required, achieved through advanced methods like electrodeionization (EDI). 5. Distribution to Manufacturing Units Once treated, the water is stored in sanitized holding tanks and distributed via pipelines to the necessary areas, such as: Cooling systems (thermal regulation). Boiler systems (steam production). Process water for product fabrication, rinsing, or mixing.

As a Field Service Technician, I’ve learned that a large part of the job happens before I even arrive on-site. Preplanning is crucial—by analyzing the symptoms and drawing from my past experiences, I can anticipate all possible faults that could be causing the issue. This mental preparation allows me to approach each job methodically and with confidence, knowing I’m ready for any scenario. A key part of this preparation is keeping a well-stocked inventory of spare parts. Based on common faults I’ve encountered, I make sure to carry the parts that are most likely to be needed. This ensures I can get the job done efficiently and without unnecessary delays, reducing downtime for the client. Being proactive and prepared not only helps me deliver faster, more effective service, but it also gives me the confidence to tackle any issue that comes my way. It’s all about anticipating needs and staying one step ahead. #FieldService #Preplanning #TechPreparation #EfficientService #CustomerSatisfaction #ProblemSolving #ServiceExcellence #TechLife #Aidacare

The Difference Between a Technician, a Good Technician, and an Outstanding One In service and maintenance, technical skills are just the foundation. The real difference lies in how each person approaches their work: • A technician gets the job done by following procedures and meeting the basic requirements. • A good technician ensures quality, takes pride in their work, and consistently delivers reliable results. • An outstanding technician goes beyond the immediate task. They anticipate problems, think long-term, and contribute to the team by sharing knowledge and building trust with clients. It’s a mindset shift—from completing tasks to creating value. This is what drives a team, and a business, toward excellence. #Technicians #ServiceQuality #Teamwork #Excellence #Growth
