Ever tasted a memory? 🍽️ I have. And it changed how I view senior living cuisine. Last week, a resident's eyes lit up as she took her first bite of our baked haddock. \(Our Executive Chef is a genius.\) "Just like my grandmother used to make," she whispered. That moment? Pure magic. It's not just about nutrition. It's about connection. Here's what I've learned about creating memorable dining experiences for seniors: 1. Listen to their stories 2. Recreate childhood favorites 3. Engage all senses, not just taste 4. Make mealtime a social event 5. Adapt recipes for dietary needs without sacrificing flavor Food is more than fuel. It's a bridge to cherished memories. How can we make every meal an experience worth savoring? #SeniorLiving #CulinaryInnovation

How can you not like eating out, it is so weird! Said bunch of my friends who love going out frequently. See, I am a very flexible person when it comes to arguments, adjustments, relationships or anything else. But when its about food, I am quite selective of a particular taste (home-made food). I like my food my way! I don't enjoy eating out for so many reasons: ❌️ you spend money to buy health problems ❌️ waiting outside for your turn ❌️ sitting in closed crowded space ❌️ with so much of noise around ❌️ bear traffic all the way! ❌️ I don't trust the hygienic conditions there And who told you that fine dining restaurants are completely healthy or hygienic? Instead I love spending quality time with friends ✅️ knowing each other on a deeper level ✅️ spending time at some open peaceful place ✅️ having food at each others house ✅️ just enjoying each others company! Its not just about the money, its about my preferences, my health and my way of spending quality time with friends! I am this way, you might be different. But what matters at last is I respect your choices and you mine! Lets be just friends without judgement! PS: Do you choose restaurant or a peaceful place to meet friends? Share your thoughts! PPS: In the meanwhile, don't forget to brush your teeth after having that gala dinner! #myfoodmyway #mylifemyrules #weallareunique

You’re doing great. On a roll. 👍 The menu comes. You fly off the rails. Been there? I sure have. Toooooo many times. 😞 Dining out feels festive and celebratory and special so the urge to splurge is real. Whether you’re trying to lose weight or simply updating your eating habits, check out my top hacks for making your taste buds happy while honoring your bigger intention … 🕵♀️ SPY! Go online, check out the restaurant’s menu in advance, and decide what you want to order before you even arrive. 🏃♀️ JUMP THE QUEUE! Order first. Lock it down so you’re not swaying in the breeze as you listen to the other enticing orders. 👭 BACK TO BASICS! Maybe you selected the restaurant for its exquisite food, but more likely you’re there to enjoy someone’s company. Focus on that and let your delicious meals be a side note. I used to waddle out of restaurants and feel sluggish, thick, and crappy through the next day. Thanks to these tricks, along with staying on top of my water drinking, have allowed me to each well AND feel well. My favorite combo. How do YOU not “go crazy” when you go out to eat? #womenover50 #midlifewomen #healthyeating #BoomTribe #navigatethemenu July Week 1 get moving Week 2 between your ears Week 3 fueling yourself Week 4 I’m an open book Week 5 cool people doing cool stuff

Consider offering a variety of smaller dishes instead of large servings. 4. Timing is key: Schedule meals thoughtfully, allowing guests to mingle and enjoy. Remember, a well-timed meal keeps the energy high. 5. Quality over quantity: Opt for fewer, high-quality dishes rather than an overwhelming spread. This ensures guests savor every bite. I used to think being a chef was just about cooking. Boy, was I wrong. In senior living, it's about creating JOY. Here's what I've learned: 1. Presentation matters. We eat with our eyes first. 2. Familiar flavors spark memories. 3. Variety keeps things exciting. 4. Nutrition and taste CAN coexist. 5. Mealtime is social time. But the biggest lesson? Listening. When we truly hear our residents' stories, preferences, and feedback, magic happens. I absolutely adore when our residents suggest their favorite meals for us to try. It gives us a fresh, new challenge and incorporates our residents' tastes and cultures into our kitchen. Chefs, how do you keep your diners excited? #CulinaryArts #SeniorCare
