Away from the relentless city noise, the never-ending traffic, and the constant demands, I seek a peaceful retreat where I can simply rest my thoughts. These short but meaningful escapes allow me to reconnect with nature, breathe in the serenity, and find clarity in the stillness. Summer vacations are exciting. Many need to get closer to nature, many need the sea, the ocean, the mountains.... Visiting new places, spending time with loved ones or taking part in retreats, new adventures do us good. We feel like we're in another world. Our body, mind and soul need to recharge. But.. Coming home after vacation can be difficult. Why is returning home after vacation difficult? Why does it take days or weeks to get back to your usual way of life? If your return home after vacation is difficult or emotional, it may be a sign that your lifestyle is artificial. It could be a sign of disconnection. But not disconnection from nature, but disconnection from your true self - from your Being, from your natural state, which is nothing else than your original state. Your authentic self. It's not about the place, it's about you. Your current level of consciousness and your nervous system. Wherever you go, you take yourself with you. Pay attention to your emotional state after your return from vacation. If you're experiencing difficult emotions on your return from vacation, you might want to think about that. It took me about 3-4 days of vacation in Italy until my mind was actually on vacation. We all know we need to take some time away to get a fresh perspective and rejuvenate our spirits. The problem is, most of us take vacations that are way too short. If you’re like me, time away is money. A long weekend or extending a business trip for an extra day or two is not a real vacation. You need to give your mind time to unwind. You need time to let your body adjust. The first few days might even be a bit painful. But then something amazing happens. When you let your mind and body relax, you can truly see things differently. You take in the new sights, have a few lively conversations, and then it happens. You start to think bigger. You start to think differently. Those lightbulb moments don’t happen when you’re running between meetings with a cup of coffee in your hand. They happen when you’re walking on the coast, completely relaxed, with a glass of wine in your hand, marveling at a sunset. Your mind needs rest to do its best work.
