Job growth in Houston is slowing, with the city losing 13,100 jobs in the first seven months of the year, compared to the historical average addition of around 22,000 jobs annually. The primary losses have been in the trade, transportation, utilities, and government sectors. However, there are positive signs, such as major industrial leases, indicating potential for recovery. Additionally, the leisure, hospitality, and construction sectors are showing job gains, with increased hiring in food services and retail driven by post-pandemic consumer behavior and food delivery trends.

Recruitment is not for the faint of heart. It is FULL of the highest high's and lowest lows. But one thing that I can absolutely say is the best part? Getting praised not only by clients, but candidates as well. This week alone I have had a client tell me, "Thank you so much, he is literally the best hire we have ever made" and a candidate tell me, "You truly changed mine and my families life and I cannot thank you enough." THIS is why I do what I do....and why I look 87 years old 😂 Taylor Ryan Executive Search Partners #construction #commercialrealestate #multifamily

Positive word-of-mouth is everything in the skilled trades. When exciting job opportunities arise in this business, it's hard to keep them a secret for long, and honestly, we love that. Here's how it usually goes: You tell three people about an amazing opportunity in Augusta, Georgia. Those three people each tell their network, and suddenly, 60 more people know about it. Then those 60 people spread the word even further, and now 150 people are in the loop. We've found that good people tend to know and recommend good people, so this organic buzz transforms into a powerful wave of talent. Our team of top-notch recruiters, who are deeply connected within the industry, amplify this effect. They know people, who know people, who know even more people. In no time, we've created a thriving community of skilled tradespeople, all through the simple power of word of mouth and strong industry connections. Our mission is to help every single one of these folks succeed! 🙌 #skilledtrades #construction #workforcesolutions #skilledlabor

I started my recruiting career in New York City. You'd think that recruiting construction in the biggest city in the country would mean tons of doors to pry open, but often it was exactly the opposite. What I learned early on was, the construction industry in NYC was huge...but also very small. Everybody knew everybody and the #1 way talent moved from one company to another was "my buddy called me and said they needed me". It was understanding this way of life that made me a better recruiter. Construction recruiting (well, all recruiting) is a "who you know" business. Always has been, always will be. And our value as recruiters is to know the best people and to connect them to others that are the best. So that just leaves one question: do we know each other? If so, let's catch up and connect each other to great people and great companies. If we don't, let's connect ourselves and build even bigger networks of who we know! #whodoyouknow #recruiting #recruiterlife #constructionrecruiting #construction #connections Delta Construction Partners, Inc.
