We shall transform our South African education sector .

Villanova is a great university with many exceptional students. While that fact is obvious to those of us on the inside who deal with our students day in and day out, it is perhaps less obvious to those on the outside. Because the 2024-25 cycle numbers (that are described in the university's post below) are not available yet on the Fulbright program's webpage, let me share numbers for the previous 2023-24 cycle (which are available). In that cycle, Villanova University was the 8th largest producer of Fulbright students nationally *ahead* of many storied institutions like MIT, Stanford, Princeton, and Johns Hopkins. Yup, that's right: We produced more Fulbright students than any one of those incredible institutions. In fact, viewed on a per capita basis, I suspect that Villanova would fare even better given that we have a small-ish student body, relative to many of the institutions ranking higher than us. We are delighted to invite scholars, educators, administrators, study abroad experts, and students to submit papers for the 2nd annual International Conference on Christian Study Abroad hosted by Living and Learning International ✈️. Last year’s conference delved into the current state of Christian Study Abroad and posed the question, “where do we go from here?” This year’s conference aims to build on the work that was done last year and explore the intersection of faith and education in the context of study abroad programs. Our goal is to foster a dialogue on how Christian perspectives can enrich global learning experiences, how different institutions can partner together, and how studying abroad can deepen one's faith and understanding of Christian principles.
