Eating challenges, while potentially driving buzz and traffic, should be strategic and aligned with your brand to ensure quality and long-term success. While initially seeming gimmicky, these challenges can attract press and loyal customers if executed thoughtfully. However, launching a successful challenge requires more than just offering giant portions—it must resonate with your restaurant's identity and the experience you aim to provide. Careful planning is essential to maintain quality and authenticity, as a viral challenge that disappoints could harm your reputation. By staying true to your brand and focusing on creativity rather than mere spectacle, a well-executed eating challenge can yield significant benefits. #socialmediamarketing #restaurants #trends

Are you repeatedly “slipping on a banana peel” in trying to run your craft beer business? Or those that support/sell into beer bizzes? I’ll steer you as to “what to do next.” ** In redux from yesterday, Sunday 8/11, here’s some inspiration and motivation so that you know you’re never alone — there’s always help for you — please reach out if you feel the need ** — Steve With your data (even loosely gathered in a shoebox), my team and I will quickly re-assemble and assess your “historical data points” and set you up on a glide path to victory. “Do you smell that? Do you smell that? Smells like … Victory!” — Robert Duvall as Lt. Col. William Kilgore from the flick ‘Apocalypse Now’ Are you facing — either a mini or major apocalypse in your business, now, or do you want to avoid a future one? Then master your business’ data points. As in customer type, where they come from, what they drink and eat, what music do they like, what vibe do they dig (causes them to stay longer), and anything else that’s important “to them.” Simply, it’s mastering your market’s demographics AND its’ psychographics, as well as the market you want. Again, master BOTH of these, I do! These are very simple actions you can take that will put your business in warp speed to sales increases — profitability, too! Most of the nearly 9,800 microbreweries and taprooms and brewpubs and more — EOY 2023 per the Brewers Association — want this, they really do. My company — Beerconomy and its subsidiaries, will manage your data and business intelligence, report this to you — along with any warning signs, frequently, in an easy-to-view-and-digest report via PDF — just like the BI/ERP dashboard WE use for YOUR business and ours. It just doesn’t get better or easier than this. Oh, and it’s not pricey either. Bold, flavorful, and fast, Chef Anthony Dee's Soy-Mushroom Noodle Bowl delivers a significant "wow" factor! 🍜 Comprised of four sauces, vinegar, wine and oil, each ingredient brings something different to the dish. “I like shiitake and oyster mushrooms because of their mild flavors and ability to maintain texture, but I encourage chefs to add any varieties they prefer," says Dee, who designed the dish to be not only be flexible, but a quick preparation that doesn't sacrifice flavor. Thanks to Eric Phillips and Colin Schilling for sharing the news with us, and Jordan Driggers for writing! Yesterday, Craft Business Daily broke news that Schilling Cider is jumping into the hard lemonade fray with Schilling Hard Lemonade, but they believe they have a true point of difference: a fruit (apple wine) fermentation base. Check out the colorful pic below. Key facts: They want to signal premiumization in the space. The “goal” is to price six-packs of the new lemonades on the shelf for a dollar more than the category leader. Schilling Hard Lemonade will pilot in a West-Coast centric area, before potentially scaling to the producer’s 20-state footprint. The larger craft cider company is posting up best-in-class trends. A top 10 craft brand family in the Circana West region, Schilling is actually “zagging” where the larger industry is seeing potholes: While April was a rocky month for many big brewers (indeed, some sources have joked that they are going to make t-shirts emblazoned, “Easter Shift”), that month ended as Schilling’s second-best sales month ever. The company grew volume by 34%, outpacing its annual growth rate of 25%.
