Empathy with our community at Hyperion Materials & Technologies Mexico Site: Supporting Local Animal Shelters!! As we do every month, we recently hosted our vibrant Hyperion Entrepreneur Bazaar. This time, we incorporated a meaningful auction featuring items that were once part of Hyperion but are no longer in use. The funds raised, alongside additional donations, were proudly contributed to Salvando Huellitas Naucalpan, a dedicated shelter for animals. Salvando Huellitas Naucalpan, founded four years ago by a group of compassionate neighbors in Naucalpan, provides a safe haven for 32 vulnerable puppies. Their primary focus is on helping pregnant street dogs by fostering both the mothers and their puppies until they are adopted and sterilized. Participating in initiatives like this brings me immense satisfaction, knowing that I can help animals facing the harsh realities of street life. Unfortunately, this is an all-too-common issue we witness around our site. As Monica from the shelter reminded us, each of us has the power to make a difference by changing the life of a dog through support and adoption. I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Eduardo F. our Managing Director and to all our colleagues (Magdalena Cervantes R, Oscar Main, etc) who contributed by donating kibble, cleaning supplies, and more. The funds raised will be directed toward vaccinating these beautiful beings with such pure hearts. In my eyes, there is no creature more loyal than a dog. From a young age, I have felt a strong sensitivity toward helping animals in need, especially those left to fend for themselves due to human neglect. I am grateful once again for the support and engagement from the Mexico site. Pet welfare depends much on the well-being of pet owners! What a concept! Thinking more broadly of the Cause supported by your foundation, business, general giving... or even if you are the nonprofit working to serve the Cause, may contribute to more comprehensive and lasting solutions to hunger, homelessness, poverty, crime, pollution--- and yes, even the care and welfare of pets! 'Throwing good money after bad' is no way to operate a charitable foundation or nonprofit! Hats off to Maddie's Fund for reaching this conclusion and shifting its focus to supporting more comprehensive, innovative and permanent solutions to end the abuse and neglect of our furry friends! WHERE do YOUR hard-earned, after-tax $'s go when you donate (to save animals lives?). HOW are people's generous donations used when donating to ' Greater Good Charities? Well, almost $800,000.00 PER YEAR goes to pay their top 4 Board members.. 2nd # shown 'compensation'. Key Employees and Officers Compensation: Liz Baker (Chief Executive Officer) $222,000 / $19,470 Noah Horton (Chief Operating Officer) $168,442 / $12,038 Stephen Minter (General Counsel) $163,905 / $9,487 Jemimah Okantey (Chief Financial Officer) $159,150 / $11,854 $154 MILLION in revenue. Almost $16 MILLION in assets. While the daily kill rate in shelters climbs. 5500 per day in 2022 7400 per day in 2024 OVER 9000 per day in 2025. How are they fixing this problem (while taking great salaries and building their assets)? President of the ASPCA = $1 million+ per year: His annual salary as of 2023 was $750,000 base salary, with $276,000 in bonuses and benefits of $47,859. Humane Society average executive salary = $268,559 a year. HOW are they not profiting from these deaths? Making $200K a year while 7400 cats and dogs are killed daily. 1 every 10 seconds. Riding people's emotions to donate is BIG $'s even for rescues I KNOW OF that: 1. purchased 30 acres (NY) now using animal abusing Amish for renovations. The Amish, operate the largest puppy mills in the US along with blinding 2 year old horses they've run into the ground and put up for sale at meat slaughter auctions to be killed in the most horrific way in Mexico. 2. Collected $40,000. in donations to place a down-payment on a property that... has NEVER been purchased or mentioned again. 3. Takes trips to the Dominican Rep. to bring back a few dogs when 1000's are suffering right here at home. 4. Started a $500,000. GoFundMe to literally pay off their farm, buy the farm next to it and build Air B&B's for they to make more revenue. Assets they KEEP in case they EVER shut down their sanctuary 5. Check out the extensive renovations to a Cat Cafe in Brooklyn. I have dozens more examples. So HOW do these MILLION$ of $'s raised in kind donations SPAYING AND NEUTERING the 100 MILLION cats suffering TODAY in the US and Canada? Answer: IT DOESN'T! Any 2 of those cats WILL produce 420,000 kittens in ONLY 7 years. Show me HOW these 'rescues' are FIXING this problem. They are operating to solely pay for their own assets, lifestyles, vehicles and trips. LOVE this example of a peer-to-peer campaign for animals: take notes everyone 🗒️ One of my clients, Australian Animal Protection Society launched their annual "Snores for Paws" event, where staff and volunteers come together to spend a night in the kennels with the pups 🐕 Here are a few of the things about this peer-to-peer campaign that I love: ☑️The activity is cause-related and mission-aligned: living the dogs' experience is a powerful message. ☑️ Each ambassador will participate in a collective event at the end: great team building opportunity! ☑️ Their fundraising objective has a concrete project: purchasing a transport van 🚐 ☑️ There are incentives to donate, supporting ambassadors in their efforts (a trip to the Hayman Islands 🏝️😍) ☑️They have mobilized many ambassadors (44!), including sponsors, to reach their objective. If you are thinking of launching a peer-to-peer campaign, these are some of the things you need to plan BEFORE launching the campaign: 1️⃣ A long list of ambassadors 2️⃣ Matching donors or sponsors 3️⃣ Incentives or mobilizing activities to boost participation 4️⃣ A concrete objective attached to your fundraising goal I was happy to support Megan Benton, the AAPS Executive Director, in reaching her objective and hopefully winning a trip to a tropical island 🤞!
