AI Evolution’s Post

You can now call ChatGPT or message it on WhatsApp! That's right, OpenAI has introduced a new feature allowing users to interact with ChatGPT through voice or text. In the U.S., you can call 1-800-CHATGPT (1-800-242-8478) for up to 15 minutes per month at no cost, and you can send a WhatsApp message to the same number from anywhere in the world. OpenAI wants to make AI more accessible through familiar channels, making it even easier to talk to an intelligent assistant at any time. This will change everything! People will start talking to AI like it’s a person — it will become their assistant, companion, and a part of daily life. It will make tasks easier, but also make us more dependent on this technology. Will we eventually rely on AI for everything? Credit: Endrit Restelica

The potential for AI to be woven into everyday processes raises some important questions about reliance and the evolving role of technology in our lives.

It's exciting, but kinda scary too – imagine relying on AI for everything. This is definitely a big step towards the future

Why didn’t Amazon do this first with Alexa, with millions of devices in homes and the infrastructure already in place, Amazon had the first-mover advantage but seemingly missed the opportunity. OpenAI saw the gap, acted decisively, and set a new standard for voice technology. Incredible!
