Has Kansas City City Hall Stalled you out on an Initiative ? Make Blacks wait for two weeks or more on a legitimate issue? The deteriorating conditions of some urban neighborhoods, Community redevelopment agencies to rehabilitate existing structures,Training, No Growth initiatives, No proper investigation of Harassment, Civil Rights Violations go nowhere. Why your own Black city council stall you out? Pressure is not applied long enough! What is a definition for initiative in government? Government initiatives are a way for people to have their voices heard and get the chance for a vote on issues that they care about. In the United States and in other countries, the government is comprised of representatives of the people who act in those people's interests. If they should fail to do so, however, an initiative is politics' way to allow people to circumvent the legislative branch of government. A direct initiative allows the population to vote on an issue without the legislative branch's involvement. According to this initiative definition, government offices may not always do their jobs correctly; if they do not, then the people need the ability to take matters into their own hands. Protest the City council in order to make a significant impact on Economic Development in our neglected neighborhoods.

🚲🌳 The work to make our streets safer happens right here, in our own neighborhoods. Thanks to your organizing, NYC is building 40+ miles of protected bike lanes and 60 miles of greenways across the city. And this work isn’t happening in a bubble — federal funding from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law is helping us tackle transportation inequities. That means more New Yorkers will have real options to bike, walk, and ride instead of relying on cars. 🗳️ National elections play a big role, too. The next president’s stance on public transit could determine whether congestion pricing finally happens or gets shelved for good. So, when TA says “we bike, we walk, we ride, we vote,” it’s because these elections shape our streets. Today, cast your vote — and then, let’s get back to the work of making NYC’s streets safer for everyone.

Looking forward to more details. Tax abatements for BUYERS has made a big difference in our recent past conversions to residential living. What has been a waste was raising our city transfer tax to 5% to fund an affordable housing committee? How is that going? Not well it appears. How about getting that money to non profits to help our unhoused persons? For those of you not burdened by this in PA a transfer tax is charged with every residential real estate transaction. Municipalities can also charge. --If you buy a residential property in the City of Pittsburgh a 5% TRANSFER TAX is assessed on your purchase price! How is that making home buying more affordable for yinz to live and love our amazing city?
The Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership stands behind the proposed Tax Abatement Program that will be a catalyst for redevelopment and a re-imagination of some of our most historic Downtown buildings. PDP President and CEO Jeremy Waldrup, Councilman Bobby Wilson, and other community leaders spoke about the program's benefits this morning at the Greer Cabaret Theater. In the past five years, the Golden Triangle's residential population has grown by 21% to over 7,000. With this tax abatement support, we hope to see that population grow significantly more by 2030 with the ultimate goal of over 15,000 residents. This program will play a pivotal role in our continued economic recovery while building a more vibrant residential community in Downtown Pittsburgh. #DowntownPittsburgh

Charity begins at home, I can not believe that Oakland California has been stripped of its Sports Teams which is a major revenue source. This appears to be by design, we can do something! and not stand idly by while families suffer, and funding for the municipalities such as The Police Department, Fire Department, and City Services are threatened. Why is the name of Oakland Airport being changed to include another City? Oakland is a beautiful City blessed with many natural resources and a rich culture that can stand on its own. So please don't be fooled into looking at only what is lacking, our voices should be demanding resources be brought back to the City. A new report shows that 77% of employers worldwide are finding it difficult to fill positions for Tech workers. Therefore, it should be a strong push to bring to Oakland, large corporations, and financial institutions, who pledge training. Anchor stores with industries in Aerospace, Technology, and manufacturing. Make the city attractive to Sports teams there are more than just one. So please consider supporting this cause which gives Oakland residents a choice in the future. End Oakland's Decline We are pleased to announce the formation of SOS Oakland, which is committed to restoring Oakland to the peaceful and prosperous city we love. This year SOS Oakland is focused on the November 5, 2024 general election. Our goal is to help elect a City Council that will develop and implement pragmatic policies and programs to solve Oakland’s public safety problems and reverse the city’s decline. www.sosoaklandca.com

Veteran Housing Corp would suggest this is a good start in tackling the affordable housing crisis in America, although no local, state, or federal program should use a cent of taxpayer dollars to fund any project that does not guarantee AFFORDABILITY IN PERPETUITY (permanent affordability) for all units of a proposed project. If the State of Vermont can do it, so can the rest of America. A a model for all future government funded or subsidized housing projects or developments, no exceptions! https://lnkd.in/eFEUC8c8 Additionally, local, state and federal housing agencies should look to the Helsinki, FINLAND MODEL of ending homelessness by providing affordable housing for all 'It’s a miracle': Helsinki's radical solution to homelessnesshttps://lnkd.in/er9HZSQU Even the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development AGREES THAT adopting FINLAND'S MODEL OF ERADICATING HOMELESSNESS may be of great value to resolving the affordable housing and homelessness crises in America https://lnkd.in/gkSZWYRU
