I had the pleasure of speaking recently at the PEI Operating Partner Forum in London about the challenges and opportunities to support our portfolio companies in building greater resilience. Thank you to Jim Corey from Blueridge Partners, and my co-panelists Alan Roux, Peter Colman and Kristen Paladino. Some thoughts from this session: -There is further opportunity to deepen our collaboration with our deal colleagues and portfolio management teams on what will move the dial on performance - active joint problem solving is key to unlocking value with greater speed; -Cash is king in this environment where leverage is going to be more expensive for longer - our CFOs are front and centre, along with trusted partners in our ecosystems; -Ensuring our portfolio companies have the right talent in place to anticipate and deal with multiple continued headwinds is critical; -There are some innovative opportunities to drive value through new digital technologies, like Gen AI, which we should experiment with over the coming period. It's not tomorrow's problem.

Big companies are changing, they want to hear what is happening on the ground, but that has to be relevant, timely and constructive. Next Generation Boards are a fantastic way to navigate this whilst also allowing employees to feel empowered, listened to and be able to play an additional contribution to the firms success. As the world moves into a stage of AI and other new technologies it is important that we keep up with it all. 🗝️Variety is key, bringing people together is key. I’d say this type of board is key for the future. If your firm doesn’t have this type of board: Would you want one? Would you join one? The biggest question - what would you put on the agenda? #nextgenerationboard #collectiveviews #networks #management #diversity #rebelideas
By bringing additional diversity of ideas to the table and supporting new ways of thinking, next generation boards offer employees of all levels the opportunity to contribute to the strategic development of business. Speaking to the Financial Times, Claudia Van Gruisen, co-chair of our EMEA next generation board, shares her personal experience of being a board member, and the impact she has seen it have across the firm. Big conferences can be very exciting - so much opportunity and buzz. But sometimes, a smaller event can be just right. Bondway.ai just wrapped up the The Finance Hive conference for fixed-income investors. What made it special? - Intimate setting - More one-on-ones - Smaller group presentations Structured. Purpose-driven. We met top-tier buy-side investors who were matched with us, with a specific interest in what we offer at Bondway. It was a who’s who of market-leading traders, portfolio managers, and CIOs. Each of which has seen more than their fair share of new technology offerings related to credit. But when we demo’d our product - faces lit up. They were seeing things they'd never encountered before. We were honored to have a senior trader from a major buy-side client, presenting with us as our “Storyteller.” His presentation was in depth - sharing how over the past few weeks on the platform, he and his team have experienced profound benefits. Bondway helped them: - Uncover dozens of incremental trades - Evaluate decisions more quickly as a team - Make faster, smarter investment choices - Gain a wider perspective on relative value, across sectors - Centralize the whole process into a fast, intuitive analytical system Seeing our platform's real-world impact was thrilling. And hearing this prominent investor speak about his positive experiences on our behalf was a definite pinch-me moment. The future of bond market analysis is here. And it's turning heads.
