Hack! Welcome to Squadron Jobs. Our mission objective is to provide aircrew with free resources, tools, and networking connections that make a successful military to private sector transition in the defense contracting world. For hiring managers, we offer our services as a traditional recruiter. Our team didn’t start out planning to be defense contractors. Through one way or another, we found our way to this industry via word of mouth while searching for post-retirement jobs at the airlines or through business school. Since then, we have given a few words of advice to our friends but now want to give detailed write-ups of what we have learned. Too many times veterans follow well-worn paths or don’t explore all their options simply because they don’t know! We want you to have all the tools at your disposal to make the right post-military career choice for you and your family. The US Army requires lightweight, low-profile transportation to navigate a variety of aquatic environments. Army leadership tasked U.S. Army TACOM LCMC to identify a cost-effective family of inflatable boats and motors (FOBAM) capable of fulfilling mission requirements. ADS worked with TACOM LCMC to create a cost-effective procurement and supply chain solution for fielding and long-term sustainment needs. We implemented processes to monitor the supply chain, ensure timely delivery, and verify U.S. manufacturing compliance. Additionally, we developed a training video to educate personnel on the proper operation and maintenance of FOBAM components. IATSE announced the appointment of two industry veterans to serve as official Industry Firearms Experts for the entertainment labor union. Larry Zanoff, a longtime member of IATSE Local 44, will serve as the Firearms Expert representing the Basic Agreement, while Brook Yeaton, Prop Master, Armorer, and President of IATSE Local 478, will serve in the same capacity but instead representing the Area Standards Agreement. In these newly created advisory roles, Zanoff and Yeaton will work closely with IATSE’s Negotiating Committees on contract negotiations and relevant proposals, assist in addressing and mitigating firearm safety issues, and represent IATSE in key industry forums, legislative hearings, and regulatory matters that require expert opinions or testimony relating to firearm use and safety protocols within the entertainment industry. Research your primary and backup career preferences, especially if your 1st career choice is unlikely. When we enter the Academy, we accept the risk that we won't receive our career preference. At the end of the day, the military decides our career field, even though they receive our input. Be the candidate that knows mulitple career preferences. This sends the message of service over career. For example, "I ultimately would love to fly, but if I can't get a pilot slot, I would enjoy serving as an Intelligence officer."
