View live event ads reporting metrics

Last updated: 2 days ago

You can view the metrics specific to live event ads on the Campaign Manager reporting dashboard. You can view granular reporting for the pre-event, during the event, and post-event by using the Event Stage breakdown.

Important to know

  • Live events ads aren’t a new ad format; they provide exclusive features for live events hosted on LinkedIn under the existing Sponsored Content event ad format.
  • Live event ads are currently only available for the Classic ad campaign type with the brand awareness, engagement, or website visits objectives.

Real-time reporting is available for spend, impressions, views, clicks. Attributed or calculated metrics such as registrations might show a slight delay.

Metrics for registrations and attendees are tracked under Event Registrations in Campaign Manager. This metric indicates the total number of people who successfully registered for your LinkedIn Event after either clicking on or seeing the campaign. You can also view LinkedIn Live analytics for both sponsored and organic distributions.

Important to know

During the LinkedIn Live Event, the only view metrics available are for video views or completions. After the LinkedIn Live Event, view percentage metrics are available, for example 25%, 50%, and 75%. View percentage metrics aren’t available during the LinkedIn Live Event as the full video length isn’t available due to the video still actively streaming.

Prerequisite

  • To view the metrics for a live event ad in Campaign Manager, you must have viewer permissions in Campaign Manager and accepted the event invitation.

To view live event ads reporting metrics:

  1. Go to your ad account in Campaign Manager.

  2. Click Advertise on the left menu.

  3. Click the Campaign Groups, Campaigns, or Ads tab for your live event ad campaign.

  4. Click the Columns dropdown menu and select the type of metrics you'd like to review. For example, Performance.

    • You can view event registrations when you choose Performance or Conversions & Leads on your reporting dashboard. You can also create a custom column view with event registration metrics.
  5. Click the Breakdown dropdown menu and select Event Stage. The pre-event, during-event and post-event metrics are displayed. The metric breakdown between the three stages will appear in rows below each applicable campaign group, campaign, or ad.

  6. To export your metrics, click the Export button. A CSV file with the report will download to your computer.

Important to know

You might also see Uncategorized on your report. For Event Stage, uncategorized means that the impression's placement is unknown. For example, it can’t be determined if the impression occurred before, during, or after the event.
