As a LinkedIn member, you can create a LinkedIn event and invite professionals who share common interests with you.
To set your event up for success, follow these recommendations when creating an event. As you cannot save a draft of the event, some members collect the information in a separate document or folder. As a Page admin, you can create a LinkedIn Live test event to run an end-to-end test and fine-tune your encoder settings without broadcasting to your audience.
-
Add a cover image: The image shows in your feed post and on the event page. Choose an engaging image with a minimum width of 480 pixels with a 16:9 ratio.
-
Use a clear and descriptive event name: Keep the event name crisp and clear and use keywords that clearly indicate topics you plan to discuss during your event.
-
Set up your event in advance: We recommend setting up your event at least 2-4 weeks in advance so that you get enough time to promote your event on and off LinkedIn.
-
Add a detailed description: Add more details on your event topic, speakers, and agenda in this section.
-
Invite speakers: Adding one or more speakers can increase interest in the event. You can only invite your connections, so make sure to connect with your speakers on LinkedIn before you invite them. If you’re hosting your event from a Page and wish to add yourself as the speaker, you can ask another Page admin to do this for you.
-
Check before you click Next: Some important details cannot be edited after creating the event, so please check the organizer, event format, date and time before clicking Next. For Pages who want to register attendees via LinkedIn, it's important to select Use a LinkedIn registration form option when creating the event.
-
Event Post on the Feed: Creating an event will automatically share a one-time post that will appear in the feed and your profile or page. This helps build awareness for your event, so please take some time to craft the text of the feed post.
-
Invite attendees: Send out event invites to your network as soon as your event is set up. This kickstarts discovery and increases the reach of your event on LinkedIn. You can only send 1000 event invitations per week, so select connections with an interest in the topic of your event.
-
Share your event: Sharing your Event increases its visibility, and it gives people who aren’t in your network (not one of your 1st-degree connections) the opportunity to read more about your Event and decide whether they’d like to attend. You can also share the URL link directly with others using LinkedIn messaging as well as other apps or platforms.
-
Leverage Event Ads: If you’re hosting on behalf of your Page, you can promote your event to a targeted audience in advance and maximize attendance using Event Ads.
