Newsletter analytics

Last updated: 10 months ago

LinkedIn members and Pages who are Newsletter authors can access newsletter analytics to better understand their newsletter performance and their audience.

Newsletter analytics page

At the top of your newsletter analytics page, you can select the date range you want to view for your data, from the past seven days up to the past 365 days. The date range you select here applies to the Trends and Article totals sections only. The Subscriber demographics and New subscribers sections are not limited by this date range.

Trends

This shows trends over the date range selected above. Use the drop down menu to select whether to display Article views or New subscribers.

  • Article views - The number of times a member clicked on one of your newsletter editions to view it either on the article page or within a newsletter email within the selected date range. Article views from organizations are not included.
  • New subscribers - The number of members who subscribed to your newsletter(s) in the selected date range.

The percentage under these numbers represents the change rate, or the number of article views or new subscribers over the selected date range expressed as a percentage of that number for the period previous to this. For example, if you received 15 article views for the past seven days, and 10 article views for the seven days before that, you will see a 50% increase over the past seven days. (NOTE: The percentage change will not appear if you did not receive any article views in the date range previous to this, as we cannot divide by zero.)

Article totals

This shows the total impressions, engagements and article views that your newsletter editions gained over the date range selected above. Analytics are available for newsletter editions posted within two years.

  • Impressions - The number of times your newsletter editions were displayed on screen within the date range selected above.
  • Engagements - The number of engagements received within the selected date range on the posts containing your newsletter editions, including reactions, comments, and shares.
  • Article Views - The number of times a member clicked on one of your newsletter editions to view it either on the article page or within a newsletter email within the selected date range. Article views from organizations are not included.

Subscriber demographics

This shows demographic information about all the members who subscribed to your newsletter(s). Use the drop down menu to select the demographics category to display: Job titles, Company, Company size, Seniority, or Locations.

New subscribers

This shows your newest subscribers with the most recent at the top. You can click on the button next to each subscriber to engage with them by following, connecting, or messaging.
