Winter is for less. Not like the get-this-sale kind of less. But just… less. Less hustle. Less achievement. Less productivity. In the US it’s winter so the trees are effectively asleep. No leaves. No harvest. No flowers. The days are shorter as if the actual season itself is trying to remind us to hunker down and go to bed earlier. Obviously, you can’t hibernate for the next 3 months from your business (I mean, unless you can which is very cool). But where can you lean in to doing less? Here are 5 things you can try or tell us how you “winterize” your business for yourself: 1) Replace one client with yourself. It’s a season of slowdown and all freelancers know the “we’re not renewing next year” pain. If you have the luxury, replace one of those clients with yourself. Set up that automation you've been meaning to set up that will definitely make your life in 2025 easier. Dream about next year. Send your invoices on time for once. It's all about you. 2) Staycation. If you live near the world’s largest ball of yarn or your town has a history museum, take an hour and visit it. Explore your town like one of the busy marketing execs from the previously mentioned cheesy Hallmark movies. 3) Take a nap. Need we say more? 4) Watch something with people you love. A cheesy Hallmark movie, a classic favorite, or actual cinema. No judgment. Instead of planning a giant party with lots of things to do, just watch something and talk about it after. Party planned. 5) Buy yourself a cup of coffee. Spend 20 minutes or an hour or whatever sounds like “less” to you at the coffee shop just drinking your coffee instead of drinking it over your laptop. Let us know how it goes and cheers to less.

Passive is not the way. If you want to make the sale, you've got to just ask for it. At the very least, let people know it's for sale. Someone who doesn't need it, will ignore you. Someone who does need it, was just waiting for that information. You got this. And see Austin L. Church school us on making the simple ask in his workshop here: https://lnkd.in/gS23Zjni

Save this for when you need it this year. And thank Jourdan Guyton every time.

Every client is not for you. You couldn't even take on every client, tbh. Dana Miranda, CEPF® wants you to lean in to better opportunies. Yes, it's scary, but you didn't start freelancing to let your schedule be owned by a toxic client. Make your business work for you and don't be afraid. Dana's incredible full workshop here: https://lnkd.in/gt4hBqxn (and don't sleep on her substack either: https://lnkd.in/gqPcjPWB.)

A money date does not sound sexy. We get it. But like the business gal herself, Miley Cyrus says, "I can love me better than you can." No one knows your money like you. You know what you need. You know what you want. That is not going to happen by itself and no one is going to do it for you. Set aside time for yourself to get your money-side sorted. Nacondra Moran, EA from Exceptional Tax Services can help you set up your money framework. See the whole thing here: https://lnkd.in/g3mp28zH And buy yourself some flowers.

That clickbait article about the "7-year old whose side-hustle makes them millions while they sleep" is clickbait. You knew it was and you were just confirming that it was by clicking the article, obviously. Passive income itself... that's not clickbait. Preston Lee from Millo explains what every good passive income stream has in common and gives ideas how you can create that stream for yourself. See his full workshop here: https://lnkd.in/g9aWZMX4
